Default 1/8 Buggy meets BMX track. Then APD tries to arrest us!.....

I got a 5 Axis CNC machine at school, they are fun to play with. Maybe I could make my own "Fioroni diff"

Yeah right, I cant even make a name tag plate with the machine. Those machines do some bit of knowledge to work.

So you are right about the money being well spent, because it takes a long to even produce one diff, maybe a whole day, depending on how "intricate" they are.

Oh yea, I worked in a machine shop for a while running a CNC mill, and I have a great appreciation for something like that. I bet they have close to maybe 6 hours machine work and assembly time, which at shop rate of a machine shop is ALOT. I bet they aren't making as big a profit as you might think on these at 200.00 each. they might easily have over 100.00 them selfs just in machine time and material. Neat stuff, I am really glad to have found the Fioroni products. I intend to buy all of the Fioroni diffs and the sliding clutch assembly, there simply is no products on the market that are even close in desighn and quality. I havent even seen anything like the sliding clutch anywhere..

The best price and service found so far for Fioroni parts is: Robins hobbies 1-818-240-2093. The front/rears arent available now but the Centers are and they are 179.00. Best prices so far also.

Yes the storm is better all around and the Hyper is for a muddy or slippery track. Get the STORM.

Have you see the diffs made by OFNA? Heard anything about them? Good, bad, etc... They're only $100.00

I havent heard one way or the other, but I dont think they have the "worm gear" type internals like the Fioroni, and thats what makes the Fioroni the real deal.

Default BMX TRACK allows electric only!

I wont ever be able to run at the BMX track again...I was there for about 4 hours Tuesday April 8th in the early AM, and the gates were open so I went in and ran the buggy. Had the best time ever, was clearing about a 30foot table top, from end to end. The landing was like the car never left the ground, super smooth transition.

Well 4PM rolls around and I call my buddy to meet me at the track to video tape the 30 foot air jump over the tabletop. I wasn't even out of my car, and some little kid comes up and asks " is that electric or gas?" I tell him its gas. He says " then you cant run it or I have to call the police." I asked what my car would do to the track that a electric TMAXX wouldn't. He could'nt answer me about that one.... I decided to just hang out until my friend got there. I had waited about 30 minutes and got the feeling I should leave...I did leave and just as I was driving out of the park, guess who's driving in??? 2 of Aurora Police Departments Finest, going about 40MPH in a 20MPH zone to come BUST ME! Needless to say the little ***** called the cops, and I hadn't even started the car or unloaded it from the car!

What really pisses me off is that little 9 year old punk doesn't pay a dime in taxes, and he can ride the track on his BMX bike which doesn't do anymore damage than my buggy. I pay THOUSANDS of dollars in taxes in Aurora EVERY YEAR, and I cant use the track MY tax money built?!? Looks like me and APD are going rounds on this one..... I can understand if I wanted to run a YZ250 on the track that would tear the track all up.......its a 3 pound car!

I was a BMX punk my self at one time, and I cant imagine giving a toot in the wind because a guy wanted to air out his buggy on the table-top jump. I have a feeling I would probably clear the runway to watch him, and hopefully he would trash his buggy for fun......I don't understand a junior cop on a bmx bike patrolling the track for people weilding a NITRO buggy......

just go back, the kid wont be there every time, and anyways if the police do show or he does call the cops, jus say he was vandalizing or something to that extent. Its dirt, the buggy isnt doing crap to the track. If you were running a nitro on a velodrome I can understand why you wouldnt be aloud but on dirt? phfffffffsss jus let it slide man.

I think the whole catch 22 that will keep me off the track is they have a sign that says "no motorized vehicles" along with 20 other rules....I think if I go early in the morning on weekdays, I will be ok. Until school lets out for the summer! Crap. never thought of that. Well, we will see. I just dont want a $250.00 ticket for running it, I could buy a new engine for that.

Sounds like you have some very bored cops there man. Living in the L.A. area, and having lived in the heart of L.A. for the past 8 years (until recently) I can't imagine LAPD sending a cruiser speeding to a BMX track because a 9-year old was bitter about some guy with a cooler toy than his, having more fun than he could.

Next time tell the kid to go get mommy and daddy (or any other taxpayer) to come give you a good reason why you shouldn't be allowed to run there.

Good grief, its not like BMX tracks are some kind of protected wildlife refuge where millions of species of insect could die from the nitro exhaust...

im sure if you were to get in touch with who controls the track (city/private) they wouldnt mind you running the cras there.

i think the motorized vehicles applies to things like you said a dirt bike.
you gotta remember most people dont even know r/c can run on gas.
give it a shot and if it dont work out i guess your out of luck but its worth a try. i wish we had a bmx track or even ar/c car track here in staten island...but real estate here is priceless so no one will build one.

Yea, I was thinking maybe the kid lied to the cops too and said I was riding dirtbike or ATV or something too...I might just wait for the cops one of these times and just see what happens...Believe me it isnt the end...yet.

ahahahahhaha. You guys are funny. I was actually really cool to the kid thinking maybe he'd relax, but he wasn't having it. I think his dad told him to go tell me, because he left with his dad a few minutes later. While I was waiting I started thinking....that kids bluffing, I can run it......then the cops showed up and I was like....good timing to be leaving ! If I had already been running it I would have just continued until he asked me to stop, if the cop even would....after all I think my Nitro buggy couldn't possibly tear the track up more than a electric car could....could it?

I raced BMX for 3 years competitively....I would think I could form a accurate opinion but I am a little biased to the Nitro buggy so I just wanted to get others opinions.....but yea I think my buggy is basically non-impact. I mean yea it throws some dirt around but it doesnt leave huge grooves or anything!

Maybe I am missing something but isn't an electric car motorized? If the sign says no motorized vehicles then wouldn't that limit an electric TMaxx, RC10T3, etc... from running on the track?

Just curious and maybe something that you might bring up the next time you are there.

I always drive my buggy at the track, both the electric buggy and nitro buggy, no one cares. I cant bring it on the nights they hold races, but I can on clinic days and nights they have practice. Most of the kids will get off the track for me and watch it jump the jumps.

Next time you bring your car, ask someone who is in charge, then ask them. If they say yes you can, then you have nothing to worry about, not even the cops.

Well, I hope you can run it on the track again, because it sure is fun.
