The nightmare continues...ran the revo for 2minutes until the slipper....well at least I hope the slipper loosened and needed tightened.........tightened it......in the process noticed the one front piggyback shock had an awful lot of side to side play in it....further inspection found the bottom shock end was totally loose and stripped where it threads onto the shaft.....further inspection found all shock bottoms were loose.....only one stripped.....tightened all those down......went out to start it....glow plug light will not light....even with a new glowplug and ones I know are good....it is either the easystart wand.....harness on the truck......or the blue wire which was aparently fixed once....cut the bad part out of the wire....soldered a new wire inbetween both ends of the blue one....still no light for glow plug.......I have tried every glow plug that I have one of them was brand spankin new....I am so disgusted....I have had this truck for 17 days and have not been able to run a whole tank of gas through it without failure somewhere. I have spent alot of money that I cuold have used elsewhere.....it is the idiot John that built this trucks fault for doing just a half @$$ed job jerry rigging this truck together.....I just want to take this POS and throw it up in the air sooooo bad and recording it for youtube.......who knows what else is wrong with it.....Im sure I will find out once I get this glow plug failure taken care of.......THIS HAS BEEN REDICULOUS.
Makes me regret even getting back into the rc hobby again.

For the shocks thats a bad day !! what piggy backs are they ? hope theyre not integy.....
And the best bet for starting is ditch the easy wand and get a glow starter its way much better for starting. The easy start wand has allways been trouble for glow plugs as is all that messy wiring on the truck.

Yes they are Integy.....they are the Integy MSR^ Shock Set (4) W/Piggyback For Revo #T3102.
Are These shocks a bad choice for these machines? They were installed on the truck when I bought it. Did you not see the pics in the first post of this thread? Those are the ones.
A glow starter will only ignite the glow plug....would I need a bump starter as well? Or do you mean do away with only the glow plug starter wire (blue) and use the wand for the starter motor only? Please explain.

Well....more issues.....while puting the gerabox screws in the gearbox....noticed while one side was tight against the other half...the oposite side of the gearbox half had a gap about 1 millimeter.....further inspection shows one or both of the greabox halves are warped....also, the slipper didnt come loose....the slipper pads are shot....hell one is even missing.......not to mention I still cant get it started....glowplug light on the starter wand will not light up. Went to the dudes house I bought mine off of today to hang out and mess with them some....and we took his to a local skatepark. After the skatepark....we went back to his place to look through all the ****load of extra parts he has.....we only found 1 set of slipper pads on an already built complete foreward only extra tranny he had there.
I get home still not able to run or even start my truck.....Im thinking....he had 2 or 3 extra complete trannys there.....so my wife suggested that maybe he would give me a deal on one and solve all my tranny problems......so im talking to him....he said he only had one extran tranny and he wanted it in case he ever needed it.....I reminded him he has 2 or 3 extra trannys there but only 1 with the slipper pads....then he tells me he will sell me one for ebay prices minus shipping......I dont pay ebays inflated prices for anything.....then he said he would sell me one for $40.00.....umm.....howabout NO......after I buy a junk truck off of him....help him with everything I could with all his ****.....and dont get me wrong.....he did try to sell me the purple revo he owns which is a platinum by the way, but I wanted the green one.....but still....I would have even gave him my tranny for parts plus paid him for a good one....I didnt even offer him that but I would have....hell mine has 2 metal gears in it even.....I just want to be able to run my truck.......I think I am going to find an outtakontroll way to totally destroy this headache and post it on youtube for you all......I even have a guy who wants to buy a truck off of him that he is selling.....but that wont happen now....Im not sinking any more money into this waste of time and money that I dont really have which could be well spent elsewhere.


Pics attatched are of the slipper pads....2 are almost gone and one is not even there.....How the hell does that **** happen?

Ya im sick to the stomache over it....I have been in and out of the rc car hobby since 1988...never had a nitro truck....first one.....I wanted a Revo since I saw them......never dreamed I would have a nitro one....Im just fed up with it.....this tranny has been a nightmare. I could have had my center diff, my baja bug body, rear brake....and way more upgrades for what I have spent on this thing so far.....And I havent ran a full tank of gas through it since I had it.
Disgusting.....utterly disgusting......I want to destroy it just so its not sitting here leading me to believe it will be fixed someday.....this is torture.

its got the 3.3 in it right...as far as the trans goes man id just start over...u can get em off of ebay with the foc kit and front and rear brake for like 45 shipped...new take offs.... alls i can tell ya man...not so sure ur friend is really a friend...sounds like he took ya

lol i had same feeling as you a few months ago but with the engine, i wanted to set the thing on fire!!
take a break from your revo and maybe work on an electric, thats what im doing now i got a transmission from a garage sale for $5 and now i am fixing it up
and i am going to wait a while before tinkering with the revo again

Ya it is a 3.3.....And im not sinking another dime into it.....ive wasted enough money on this junk truck. Just got a msg from dude I bought this POS from today....Best price he can do on one of the extra trannys is 25bux.....I would rather spend 60bux on one online than give him any more money........im not buying a tranny for it period though. Im done with it.

man i feel for you.
the revo is a complicated truck, and i have seen some revos at my LHS that the owners didnt know what they were doing and messed it all up.(seriously, i saw one where the owner locked the rear AND FRONT diffs. then he wondered why he was breaking so many parts)
sounds like the previous owner of your revo did just that. its a shame that he passed on his mess to you.

maybe you can figure out what IS good on the truck and part it out on ebay. might be able to get some of your money back. but like you, i wouldnt spend another cent on this one.

I just got back From the guys house that I bought it off of...He sold me that foreward only tranny for 25bux. (Pics attached) I believe what I am going to do Is tear this pig down and rebuild it from scratch just to be sure everything is correct on it to avoid further damage and frustration. I want to get this thing where it should be so I can build an outtakontroll track for it. I have built several rc car tracks in the past for my 1/10th scale and 1/16th scale buggies. I know what these Revo's are capable of and if it werent for driving his purple one, I would have probably given up on this one already. But that little taste of driving his that day has me bent on doing whatever it takes to Revivo this beast....in fact....mine is no longer a Revo......it is a REVIVO.....because of all I have had to do so far to revive it lmao.

Pic of newly built workbench....needed more room for this bigger truck. I will be installing the foreward only tranny tonight. Ill letcha all know how it goes. Still have to get a glow plug ignighter and a pullstarter tomorrow if I have time....seems like the better way to go all around. Any opinions?

hey outta did u change ur plug yet??? r u sure the plug is for the nitro ur runnin???? 20% 30% etc.... how much fuel u had thru the 3.3....might need to check the pinch

change the glow plug and check your lsn... Leave the ignitor on there for about 30 seconds, let it warm up a bit. Check into the dynamite ignitor's with the meter on top. It checks your glow plug, and tells you if it's good or bad...

Oh yeah, truck looks good man. Stick with it. It is VERYfrustrating some times, but it's well worth it...

hey outta...u wanna get longer life get a bigger servo...like a 200oz for the steering...that will help a ton....ive switched all mune over...i cant say how long but 2 tanks isnt but 15 mins maybe...its a easy mod and doesnt cost that much...plus steering is ALOT faster...jason
