I've read those threads in the boat forums, the best guess seems to be from reflection due to the water. They were JUST guesses.

Well I have to say after running my xs3 JR radio for a while and seeing how that runs the villian ex I am going to have to get another remote.
Cause that radio on the water is crazy the boat will go so far that you can't see it anymore it's hard to tell which way to turn it.
So the Spectrum does not like water there is nothing wrong with that I just don't want people to be putting those in there gas boats and losing them.
I don't know about all you guys but I don't have a grand to just throw out due to a radio that does not like water and the reflection off the waves and such.
