Mr.Freeze, Just wondering if you've run the new boat anymore. I'm looking at sometime in the near future for a new boat. I can't seem to decide between the boat you have or Dana s new deep vee. I was wondering how the boat is handling for you. Who knows maybe I'll get both. Yeah I'm sure that will go well with the wife. Also have you installed the skeg yet? If so is it self fabricated or purchaced? Let me know.

Well I haven't installed the skeg yet, and it is home made but not by me Billium made it when he owned the boat. This time of year the only way to get on the water around here is with a quad or a snowmobile

Ya, before I put it in I gave myself a shave LOL, no problems at all putting it in. Now that I have that 23 out I might aswell look for 26 to put back in . Also I think I'm gonna ditch the IV bag and put a tank in it. We'll hook up this summer for sure, Thanks for the help Bill.

Well I ditched the IV bag that was in it and put in a 24 oz. dubro tank. I spliced a tee in for a vent but I was wondering where to route it and how to terminate it.

hey freeze i owned one before and 24oz hardtank is a good idea had same setup, i would recommend mounting tank alot farther forward with modded 260 front gets real lite, also 12oz-16oz weight in front helps also....

Stan, I think your still goin to have over flow prob's w/ that setup. use a three point setup.
1 INLET
2 FUEL TO CARB
3 BREATHER
i use a nitro fuel filter for breather put a loop[ in the tbeing & mount it as high as you can

The way I set it up I have the fuel fill going into the top hole in that line I 1 tee for a breather the a second tee for the carb return, and the bootom hole I have the line going to the carb with a filter inline. In the tank the top I put a longer brass tube in and ran it to the other end of the tank and angled up to the highest point, and the bottom has a piece of tygon with a wieghted end to stay on the bottom for fuel pickup.

I don't want to mount the tank further forward as ballast as it will throw of my cg as the tank empties I'll try to keep under control with the drive and tabs.
Unfortunatly all I can do right now is theorize because everything frooze up solid around here, and if was some open water I don't want to go in it.[sm=drowning.gif]

ran 470/3 from (dashboata) boat was in 50mph range and wild ride ... i would kick out rudder a little and that helped a lot in turns.. once you get used to way it runs i could hang with another guy running hurricane with butch motor and those run real good, i would also recommend using rudder with 6in setback that will help in turns, thats where boat needs help...

if you want like 1-3mph more out of that boat remove the choke from the 644 carb and plug the holes with fast cure JB WELD. i tryed the 257 tough carb to get to hold a tune. i love the 644 easy to tune but the choke was holding my motors back removed the choke and saw 3mph gain on my bonzi and 2.3mph gain on my whh man-o-war. and the boats are still easy to start just put you're finger in the carb for choke...

Got the boats out today
I found out very quickly that this hull does not like the mod 26. I couldn't go over 3/4 throttle without it doing barrell rolls, and that is with a skeg under her. First I ran it with the 575 prop then backed it off to the 470 and still couldn't keep in the water guess I'll be putting the 23 back in it and using the 26 for my woody build.

No it's not flipping in the turns, it will barrell roll if I gas it going in a straight line, wicked impressive I'll tell you what. She had to be doing 50 at 3/4 throttle with the 470 prop. It's torque roll for sure. I'll try to dual rudders for the hell of it tomorrow but I don't think its gonna help. I've got the shark fin (finger remover) hanging down, the turn fin, and the rudder as deep as she'll go and it still rolls over better than my dogs. I would love to get dialed in with the 26 in it cause if I do she'll be doing 60

go back to the 2 rudder setup it will handle the mod motor better.

Back to the drawing board. Ran it today with the 23 back in it but with a better header and pipe, no barrel rolls but the speed was less than desirable.
