Fixing to leave in a little while headed out that way. Won't have access to this site next week during travels. I hope to meet a lot of the fine folks I have conversed with here next weekend. May we have good weather and everyone have a safe trip.

FOR THOSE INTERESTED, BRING LIGHTS
We are having a night fly sesion (just incase Ulf hasn't mentioned it yet) Saturday night, as well as for any die hards that might want to stay around a little on Sunday night.
The park gates close at about 10:00PM so it is easy to get in a little night flying.
Hope the weatrher is as good next weekend as it was this past two days.
Take care

well Jim, I guess you have not read our other thread about the night fly. Doesn't matter, you will find it eventually.
Also to let you guys know that the weather today was absolutely great. 84 degrees blue skies and about 5 mph wind (if even). Let's hope for that next weekend.

So, after buying a pbf for Houston... After making plans... I can't go. My master's course prof decided to add a class during spring break to make up for one she missed. Bummer.
Say hi to the Hooters girls for me!
(That was as close as my fiancee would allow me to actually seeing a Hooters girl.)

Tom that's too bad. Sorry to hear that you won't make it. Wanted to thank you in person for the mag. I am sure I will get a chance later on.
OK guys, Restaurant space is reserved for our get together on Saturday Night. It will be at a Steakhouse called "Logan's Roadhouse" on Highway 6 ! I will explain everybody during the fly in on Saturday how to get there. We will have a private room for us, so we can have fun. I reserved the place from 7:30 PM on. They close at 11:00 PM, so we might have to go to a different place after that (if you want to keep on partying that is).
Men, let's just hope now the weather will be on our side and be as beautiful as it was this past weekend. So far it indicates in the 70's with cloudy skies and a 10% chance of rain on Saturday and a 30% chance on Sunday. Not looking to bad. Let's hope the best. Will monitor weather as the week progresses

might sell my Newbee with Saito 30 GK, a OS 26 Surpass, and maybe my NIB Razzle 3D ARF. Has a slightly damaged fuse from shipping and I stripped the covering to repair, but men I have so many planes that I think I can part with that one. Repair could be done probably in under 5 minutes.
Let's see what people bring. I think there will be going on some buying and trading anyway.
Bring what you wanna sell.
Oh yeah, the temperature looks pretty promising. The weatherman on TV said last night night that the temp. will get up to 80 degrees, and he didn't say anything about rain. Only partly cloudy. Let's hope this is true.

Yep, you better bring a pair of shorts. Seriously. It's also humid as hell already.

Check This Out
Well folks here is the local weather report:
Sat: upper 50's in the AM to upper 70's in the afternoon
Sun: upper 50's to low 60's AM rising to upper 70's or low 80's also with a 20% chance of wet in the late afternoon to evening.
Sounds like a great time for all. There is also anoter good thing in that the bug season has not arrived yet, so we dont expect more than one or two people being transported off by flying insects
Take care

Address
Hey Ulf,
What's the physical address of the Field. MapQuest wants an address and a zip if possible. I like turn by turn instructions when I have to drive in the Houston 500. (G)

forget map quest ! I will include a map as a picture here.
Here are the driving directions when coming to th field either from I-10 West or East. In your case, I assume you will be coming up 59. OK. when hitting entering Houston, take the Beltway 8 or also called Sam Houston Parkway to the West. Then Exit on I-10 west or you can also exit Westheimer, and go straight down Westheimer.
from I-10 you take Highway 6 down (south) to Westheimer, make a right on to Westheimer (there is a mall there), go to the very next traffic light and turn right on to Westheimer Parkway into George Bush Park. You will follow the parkway thru the park about 2.5 miles, and you come to a traffic light inside the park. Right pass the traffic light, the field is on the right hand side, and the entrance is about 500 yards past the traffic light to your right also.

For the GPS folks it is George Bush (not W) Park and the intersection that the field is on is the corner of Barker Cypress and Old Westheimer Parkway
I am not sure on the Westheimer spelling so if you have a problem try reversing the e & i
Take care Jim

Here is the most correct intersection:
Challenger Rd and Dick Scobee Dr, Houston, TX
On Mapquest you can see that Dick Scobee Dr intersects with Westheimer Parkway (correct name and spelling)
To get on Westheimer Parkway you make a right (ONLY WAY TO TURN) at the first traffic light west of the intersection of Hwy6 and Westheimer .
Then you will go through the the park and also through the tarffic light in the park.
You will see the flying field on your right.
Then about a 1/4 mile will be Dick Scobee Dr to turn right on.
