Iridium plugs best known for burning a rich mixture a little better - even in much bigger engines (600+cc). That would explain what you experienced regarding idle and mid-range. Though I'm not doubting your top end experience/results, I have to wonder if the engine were tuned for peak rpm prior to the switch to Iridium.

Also wondering how your results might compare to a stock CM-6 gapped at .025".
