I have a saito 180 and am a little stupid
can some one walk me through the procedure
and do they have spark plugs that fit in the glow plug hole.
I'm with you,man i'm so stupid i would not even consider converting a 150/180 to gas.Very good reading above re info but..at the very least you are up for 160 bucks right from the get go plus pumps etc and endless hours on what can be a very frustrating learning curve and for what?..the same sound without the bark you get from nitro glo fourstrokes, happy? 500 bucks will buy you years worth of good nitro glo fuel with a sound and smell thats hard to beat..on the other hand if you have lots of spare time on your hands..

The gas converted engine do use gas plugs that fits the glow plug hole.

Yes, some money but after 25 years with glow I am so happy with gas fourstroke. No mess at all...
Easy to start, runs extremely well and the gas cost is like nothing.

But for me the most important is no messy glow and oil...

Then there's always the option of running CDI W/nitro & making 4HP W/an FA180.

8850 RPM W/an 18X8 prop on 30% nitro.

3.5HP, 8450 W/the same prop on 15% cool power.

20% better fuel economy too W/reduced mess.

Was curious how many years you have been running this engine set up that way?

I don't want to hijack this thread, or cause a problem . but I am getting into gas and like it.

I have two satio FA120,s and would like to convert to gas.is the info here going to help me or should I start another thread . I enjoy working on things and would welcome the challenge of doing this.

thanks either way

Check with Adrian at www.ch-ignitions.com

He makes a complete kit to convert your engines to gas.

You can also use E85 at a cost of about $8.00 to $9.00 a gallon with oil cost using the existing carb if you convert to electronic ignition.

I guess you were replying to me, does not matter. I went there and they do have a conversion.

thanks for the info, I do like that company and may go that way.

my next mission is to find out the power output of a saito FA 120 converted to gas.

Well no answer my last post. In researching this I think I'd go with the stock carb and a Perry pump. Ignition from HK and it should still cost less than $100. What's still holding me up is that it will still be a 25cc motor and I like larger planes. anyone want to buy a nice used 150 glow?
