Now I understand why they have them first.We should have RCU show what country we are from . It would help keep things in the proper context.I love this forum.
Thanks for the info.

Damagedgoods:
That certainly does NOT look like damaged goods!
Thank you for posting the pictures! One wonders why
those producing these planes cannot produce such pictures....We want to look inside!!!!
I attach one pic of the measurement I need on your 109. Maybe you can measure?
The plan is to put in the sierra gear for the Meister Platinum 109 if it fits .
Even if I need to do modifications on the wing.
I have asked another guy for the Sierra measurements, since he is building the Meister Platinum 109.
Here;
http://www.rcscalebuilder.com/forum/...678&PN=1&TPN=5
You can see the gear here;
http://www.rcscalebuilder.com/forum/...678&PN=1&TPN=3
The result would be that my coming ESM 109 could stand on its own gear.....if its not too far out regarding zize....
If it ever arrives here....we have been waiting for ages....[:'(]

I can see another modification I would have to do immediately;
This one would have to be moved DOWN. Cannot have a lot of wires going straight through the seat.....

G'day guys,
Kwik the width of the fuselage is approximately 8.25 inch (210mm). The length of the gear I measured from the mounting flange to the axel is 240mm. There is still a bit of scope to go shorter as my retract bodies are right at the inboard end of the rails. My reatracts are air driven as the electric ones weren't done when we got our kits here in Oz. Jimmy, the outer flaps are driven by the normal ESM servo convention of mounting to a ply plate that screws to the top surface of the skin so that the servo arm is external. The inboard spilt flap is driven by an internal servo that lays on its side (like what the aerobatic planes use when they put a servo inside the hori stab) so the pushrod is internal. You need fourt servos for the flaps, one each. I'll get a pic in a day when I can get the wing off. Kwik, you are right about the cable runs for the elevator/rudder. They will interfer with a cockpit. I'm about to install a ply mount setup I made last night to drop the servos as low as possible on the floor. The lower servo sits just above the fuselage half glue line. This will allow a deeper cockpit. I'll post a pic when it's installed. Cheers,
Dave

Hey Dave would it be possible to connect the inboard to the outboard flap with a tab ala Corsair instead of using the extra servos and Y connectors?
thanks bob

Actually the real Corsair actually had tabs to control the flap segments. I 'am just thinking less servo's and Y connectors less chance of something going wrong. The old saying keep it simple.

OK guy's, here are the pictures of the ESM 109. Kwik, you could possibly place the gear in the centre of the fuselage via the bottom. Inside where it would locate is between the rear former for the engine tube and the front of the box built around the wing spar. It would be a fair amopunt of work but do-able. If anyone would like any more pic of specific things please post and I'll try to get them on here in a timely manner![Wink](images/smilies/wink.gif)

OK guys all have been asking about these 2 long awaited releases here in the USA.
They have just arrived and we have them available now <span style="line-height: 115%; color: #333333; font-size: 12pt">ESM BF-109 Messerschmitt aka ME-109 Color A 50cc 88" Wingspan </span><span style="line-height: 115%; color: #666666; font-size: 12pt">(ESMBF109-88AAF)</span><div style="text-align: right; margin: 0in 0in 10pt -0.75pt; background: white" align="right"><span style="line-height: 115%; color: #666666; font-size: 12pt"></span><span style="line-height: 115%; color: #333333; font-size: 18pt">$549.00</span><span style="line-height: 115%; color: #333333; font-size: 9pt"><br clear="left" /></span></div><div style="line-height: normal; margin: 0in 0in 10pt -0.75pt; background: white"><span style="color: #333333; font-size: 12pt">ESM FW-190 D9 Focke-Wulf 50cc 82.5" Wingspan Model ARF </span><span style="color: #666666; font-size: 12pt">(ESMFW190D9-83AAF) </span><span style="color: #666666; font-size: 24pt">$599.00</span></div>

Thank you damagedgoodes, very important info for me!
n8622t ; CG? No, havent been able to order this plane yet. Been waiting for a looooong time!
ESM did a very good job on setting the correct CG position on the 50cc Corsair.
But on the 30cc Typhoon and Stuka it was too far ahead. At least for me.
That is ; I balanced the Thypoon and Stuka according to plans. Then they became nose-heavy.
For me, that is. This of course it because then ESM can say; It isnt tail heavy!
hehe.

The 109 arrived yesterday. Now that was some fast shipping.
Ordered the plane last week and it's already here from ArfPros.
Great looking ARF!
Time to get rolling.
I plan to use the following Hitec servos
Elevator/Rudder/Ailerons: 5645s
Flaps: 645s
Throttle/Retract Valve: Spectrum servos (don't remember the number)
Talked with Daryl at Sierra - he was waiting on a 109 wing to determine the parts and pieces needed for retract assembly, so he will probably offer as set for the plane. He will get my business.
Need to find a spinner and wheel source.

Darrel at Sierra answered me today; The Meister Platinum 109 gear will fit within the fuse.
I will let them stick a bit out on each side just like the real one. (Why, oh why didnt ESM split the wings in the scale location....)
The Platinum gear has a 280 mm strut. The ESM 50cc 109 has 240mm strut.
I asked Darrel whether it is possible to order a 240mm strut variant of the Platinum gear. This means my 109 will
stand on its own gear even without wings. Nice for storage and transport.
Update; Darrel says there is no way the 1/4 scale gear will fit in the wing. But there is ESM gear goming up soon and
he will come back to me on this. Either way, I will mount them in the fuse, not in the wing.

No offense to you but what the hell did ESM do in regards to the cut out area for the canopy? Mannn the plane in general looks awesome but the seam line when the canopy is installed looks all together (bad) wrong. I guess I'm picky lol, that's only because my ungle flew the the 109G!
Anyways GREAT job your doing on the build and thank you for your posting the pics!!
