RE: ??? How to Paint Camo Scheme on Monocoat ???
The July 2003 MAN article that changed the color scheme of the GP DR 1 used a lot of the techniques already mentioned. Here is a brief overview of the process outlined in the article:
1. Remove all wrinkles and firmly iron down the covering
2. Prep film by scuffing with 3M "Very fine" automotive pads or 000 steel wool
3. Wipe film down with a rag moistened with rubbing alcohol
4. LustreKote was sprayed directly onto the film
5. Krylon was sprayed on top of LustreKote White Primer
6. LustreKote Flat Clear was then applied over entire model
I wonder if the Flat Clear eventually discolored the finish....I guess we'll never know.

RE: ??? How to Paint Camo Scheme on Monocoat ???
Hello,
Use my PROVEN method:
1. Iron out all bubbles on monokote.
2. Use 00 grade steel wool as 000 is way to fine. DO NOT use sandpaper as it is very easy to go through the clear coating.
3. Clean out with alcohol, not acetone as it leaves some sticky waxy residue.
4. Use Createx Auto Air to paint by brushing or spraying. This paint goes on smoothly and dries LIGHTNING fast via heat application ( heat gun or hair dryer).
5. Clear coat with LusterKote FLAT or GLOSS pending on the type of plane.
6. Any wrinkles can be fixed via HEAT GUN (not Iron as it will mar the finish).
I have NO problems of having paint peel off. Use this system will make a believer out of you! Dai ( see my O-1 Bird Dog thread where I use this system).
