RE: 2 minute flight times
Any luck getting the site to work yet? The problem lies with the ISP's, I am not fluent in computer talk, but I will get my IT guy to explain it.
Yes, I work for like90, I am the owner. I find it weird how most companies wont ship worldwide, or take the slow boat to do it. Shipping small items is inexpensive and takes less than 10 days the way we do it.

The head stiffener is a separate item. It is available in a package deal for a few bucks less. The head stiffener comes with mounting bolts and nylock nuts.

The problem lies with your internet service provider's settings. It is nothing we can fix. If you have access to another computer then that is the best way about it.
If you would like to email me, we can discuss our products off the forum. My email is [email protected] I will give you all the information you need.

RE: 2 minute flight times
Zeeshan,
This is probably not the best place to do this but... what error do you get when you try to access the site?
What kind of internet connection do you have - dial-up or broadband (cable or ADSL)?
I take it this is a Windows PC (XP?) with Internet Explorer?
Who is the ISP? (AOL, Yahoo, BT?) - I'm wondering if there are some parental safeguards getting in the way .
Can't promise to help but post the answers and I'll give it some thought.

My IT guy is out of town, but will be back tomorrow, HE knows all the info. It has something to do with your ISP, that is all I know. He will reply tomorrow.

RE: 2 minute flight times
So you get a '404' error? This number is shown in the error - or do you get a 'DNS' error.
Try this...
Start ->Run
in the little box type CMD and then the enter/return key (the big one on the keyboard) - this will open an MS-DOS command prompt (ugly [>:] )
type
NSLOOKUP www.like90.com
and enter/return
You should see something like
Server: inh2dns07.imsnet2.btopenworld.com
Address: 213.120.62.103
Non-authoritative answer:
Name: like90.com
Address: 207.44.242.117
Aliases: www.like90.com
The green bit is the important bit. If you don't see this (i.e. if teh Address is not found) then the 'name servers' at Telewest don't know about the like90 web site.
If you DO see this then type
ping www.like90.com
and enter/return. This sends a test network packet from your PC to the like90 web server.
You should see something like
Pinging like90.com [207.44.242.117] with 32 bytes of data:
Reply from 207.44.242.117: bytes=32 time=158ms TTL=43
Reply from 207.44.242.117: bytes=32 time=157ms TTL=43
Reply from 207.44.242.117: bytes=32 time=156ms TTL=43
Reply from 207.44.242.117: bytes=32 time=158ms TTL=43
Ping statistics for 207.44.242.117:
Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 156ms, Maximum = 158ms, Average = 157ms
The actual times don't matter - what matters is that you got a reply.
If this all works then I need to think more - maybe Colins web admin has some ideas.

RE: 2 minute flight times
This suggests there is probably some kind of routing or proxy issue... have you asked telewest about this?
I don't really want to start messing with your Internet Explorer settings until you've checked with telewest....
Do you see this type of issue with any other web sites?

RE: 2 minute flight times
So... open a CMD MS DOS prompt like before and type
ipconfig /all
You can copy the output and paste it into here.... point the mouse at the first part of the output, hold down the left mouse key and move the mouse to the end of the output - you should see all the text get highlighted. Press enter/return (you won't see anything happen)
Post a reply in here and click the right mouse button and select Paste.
This will list the network config of your system.
Who sets up your PC? Is it your dad or you?

RE: 2 minute flight times
Looks OK... the only thing I'm not sure about is in the DNS servers section...
DNS Servers . . . . . . . . . . . : 62.30.112.39
194.117.134.19
62.30.0.39
A DNS server is a Domain Name Server... it's a bit like an internet phone book. It translates names (e.g. www.like90.com) into Internet Protocol (IP) addresses. The IP addresses are used to make the connection when you browse a web site etc. - and they can change (as phone numbers do when you move house) so your PC will ask the DNS server(s) for the address whenever you try to connect to a web site.
Normally you will have two DNS servers configured - a primary and a backup, this makes stuff work if the primary is unavailable or just slow. Usually they will be on the same 'part' of the network... and this is what confuses me. You have 3 DNS servers configured
1) 62.30.112.39
2) 194.117.134.19
3) 62.30.0.39
Having 3 servers configured is not unusual.. but the 2nd server is on a completely different 'part' of the network (subnet)
Items 1) and 3) look good to me - item 2) looks odd, I would not expect to see this in a normal home setup.
(I have this kind of setup but I have quite a few machines and my own DNS server...).
If your first DNS server is slow / down then I can imagine that the second will not help..
Your PC will try to lookup names (www.like90.com) by querying the DNS servers in the order that they are listed... you can change this order in the network settings on your machine - but I'm reluctant to start explaining how to do that.
The best I can suggest is that you try to talk with the ISP again. Explain the issue that you are seeing - see if they can get to the like90 web site.

RE: 2 minute flight times
Zeeshan,
I apologize for not being aware this was happening to you, Yukonho just alerted me to this thread. I am the web admin for like90, and we have only gotten two complaints thus far about our site not working, both from people using your ISP.
UKgroucho is doing an excellent job helping you, probably better than I could myself as I am a Mac personality. I do know enough to say that he knows what he is talking about.
I only want to add a few suggestions that might lead us both to a conclusion for your dilemma.
First, in your post above, the requests for www.like90.com are timing out. This could be for several reasons, but finding the reason would be tough given the situation. Try doing a ping directly to 207.44.242.117 and see if you get a clean reply. Do this by typing CMD in the 'run' window found in your start menu. Then type 'ping 207.44.242.117' and hit enter. If you get a clean reply, it is probably a bad DNS in your list.
Second, we can replace your DNS servers with a known redundant public DNS server like 4.2.2.2. You can enter this address in your network settings under primary DNS server, and leave secondary and tertiary blank (remove all others). Be sure to write them down before deleting them, so you can re-enter them after this test. Then, try pinging www.like90.com again to see if you get a reply. If you do, it is probably a bad DNS server in your list.
Let us know how it goes.
