Just look at the success GP has had with the Pitts and I think you may learn----Take a moment and read of the many, many, many posts of the people wanting to put 2.4-3.7 gassers on this plane. The Dave Patrick is too darn small--a 100 inch is too darn big. I bought my Pitts because it was the PERFECT SIZE--AND PRICE FOR ME---To tell you the truth--I WISH IT WAS AN ULTIMATE-I think most poeple bought the Pitts because there was not an areobatic ARF Bipe out there in that size and GP scratched an itch that nobody knew was there---If you build and price one in the same area as the GP Pitts--I will place my order

Aeroworks is ready to release theirs. It is the one Chip Hyde just wont the TOC with. He flew it on an experimental DA 200...wonder what that would cost.
I would say design it around a DA 100 and more would be interested. Make it either arc or solid colors so we can individualize it. I know a number of people who were interested in the H9 Sukhoi until they found out it had HANGAR 9 plastered on the side...BIG mistake. I have one your solid white 1/4 scale caps that I "dressed up" , everyone who has seen it loves it and asks what kit it is...no one believes it is an H9! I have photos I can e-mail if interested.
Frankly, I'd rather see an Edge 540T with refinements of the Sukhoi instead of the ultimate anyway.

I forgot to say to add me to your pre-release contact list for whatever version of the bipe... or edge... you decide on. Being the first kid on the block with a new toy is sooooooooooooo much fun!!!

He is a contractor. I don't have any pics I did not have a camera the last time he came out to fly but it was a site to see a 60% Cap it looked like full scale and flew like one also.

Yet another voice for the 100cc class. Design it to be truly unlimited with a 100cc and you can count me in. I do like the color scheme on the prototype, really cool.
I am assembling a H9 1/3 Cap now and the quality is excellent. Would be nice to have somewhere to mount the switches though ! BME 102 for power.
Craig.
PS: I have the GP Pitts with a BME 50. The combo is too heavy, despite the reviews you see posted. Power/weight/wing area is crucial.

I vote to big as well......I would buy one in a heartbeat if it was smaller and go well with a ZDZ 80. Please please make it smaller H9!!!

Anxiuosly awaiting an aerobatic arf/arc bipe this size! At this time, the bigest one available (that I know of) is the Dave Patrick Ultimate. The DP Ultimate is very successful and is a huge seller. I believe a bipe in the 80" - 100" range would be even more successful. Please consider it!!!!!!!!!!!!

What kind of glasses correct 20/20 hindsight?
Hope you guys at Hangar Nine can read the handwriting on the wall and get us the kind and size of ARF's we're begging for. The Ultimate you're promoting is just too darn big and expensive for most of us, but one in the 80-100 cc size would go like hotcakes.
I would rather see an ARC, but if the ARF was tastefully done and
didn't have "Hangar 9" written all over it, I'd go for it.

What if--you could buy a ready to cover Ultimate - very light -competitive airframe - for 80 to 100 cc engine.
What if the airframe cost 1200 ?
ready to cover.
Lately we have pondered which airframe would appeal- in this size.
We have licked the transportation issue -using a fuselage which is two piece -and proven in competitive flying.
Not looking for orders -just wondering what is really a popular design.
Personal choice is the Bucker Jungmann -but it is a bit unknown.
Tho it's performance is excellent -a bit harder to build.
Just wonderin--

Dick--You da man!!
Personal choice is the Bucker Jungmann -but it is a bit unknown.
In my 12 or so years of modeling and owning a TON OF DIFFERENT PLANES--the Jungman is in my top 4 of all time as far as looks and performance-(the other --Pitts, Ultimate, and Edge)

The big ones Dave had were mine - I built the fuselages -scaled up from my earlier TOC models -flown by Steve Rojecki- in 1990
recently I have been flying one of the original ones - with ZDZ-instead of the original Tartans - with the 60 single &pipe(1790 squares), the model does the Unlimited IMAC stuff very well -especially snap recoveries.
Bipes excell at maneuvers where the rotational mass is important - the short span is of real value .
I mentioned the Ultimate as it appeals to more people - just from looks --

Yeah, Dick - You go, Dude!
Build it and they will come. I would love to have an Ultimate that size, especially an ARC. The Jungmann would be nice, too. I even
love GP's big Aeromaster, though I'd really like something like that in the 80 - 100 cc range.

Dick, My Jungman (will start covering this weekend) also has 1740 sq in with a Taurus 62 but I am a bit concerned about the weight--(guessing about 25-27 lbs. Where does yours weigh in? Also- does yours use the traditional flat bottom airfoil or did you modify that also. (sorry folks, I know it is a bit off topic but golden information I can't get anywhere else)

Mine - designed for TOC- is scale with a scalelike fully symmetrical airfoil - and Yes some were made that way in Switzerland.
Mine weigh -- 17 lbs .
Others who have built them frm my plans typicaly are at 20-22 lbs. with a 60 .cc
those are 1900 sq in full span ones - mine is clipped.

Old thread, I know,
BUT I WANT A 80" Ulty!!!! Sooooo many more people would buy them too. I missed out on the Cap and I don't like the Suk, but put my name on the waiting list for 80'' span Ultimate. I'd be all over it. Jordan
