Thanks BEEN THERE WRECKED THAT. This is no big deal i did not come here to start anything. But i will post the results which ever of get his truck going. The picco is fast and ive heard alot of good things about it. Not bragging on my truck but its got one hell of a hole shot. So who ever gets out of the hole first with out flipping on its back is the winner. Its all in fun. Been there wrecked that and nitroracer20 you two shake hands. This is what rcu is all about to share ideals and to have fun. Later

Um...back to ENGINE TALK...

Although OFNA seems to have come out with the .26 drop in first, Werks Racing, who pioneered the .21 version w/Picco also has a .26 drop in available: http://werksracing.com/product.do?sku=WRXP226

I just called them (work phone...shhh, don't tell!) & he said that like before there are subtle differences between the variants, and while he didn't slam OFNA, he said that they work super-close w/the head of Picco on all their engines, as they are the 'real' picco dealer for the USA.

This means that Orion/Wasp will probby offer one too, if they haven't done so already.

I haven't raced anyone with the Sirio yet, but I embarras savage ss's and lst's all the time with my picco, and it was nice to tune after breaki in. Very clean install with the traxxas b.b. kit.

Hi,
i´ve a Sirio in my Revo too.

IMHO, everything bigger than a .23 is too much for the Revo. You will only damage your drivetrain faster...

ORIGINAL: niggballs

1 HAS O.S. 18 (IF U WANT LOTS OF POWER DONT BUY THE .18 ONLY LITTLE FASTER THAN THE STOCK MOTOR)
First off, looks like you need a new keyboard becaus it seems your capslock is stuck.
Second, the .18 was not designed for making your revo 20 mph faster. It has all the bottom end you could use. It has probably double the acceleration of that stock motor.

If you want more power then the picco and rb,sirro engines at a much more affordable price .Get the STS .28,this engine is very powerful and very reliable..You can find them for about $120.00 and will beat most of the engines in this post .

Maybe..., but then, you need the BB-Installation-Kit, header and a suitable pipe.
Probably a new cb and clutch too.
And then, as you see, your "price advantage" is gone.

I own both of these engines, the picco developed a front bearing air leak fairly quickly (umm 1/2 gallon or so), I just installed the sirio the other day and broke it in.... both have a ton of power, but i like the sirio better for my style. the picco seeems to have more bottom end, but wont rev quite as high, while the sirio has a more broad midrange power and still acheivs 40k rpm. My vote is for the sirio

i have the picco .26 max and i couldnt ask for a smoother of faster engine. i have a tmaxx 2.5 and it screams. i purchased a siro .23 and loved it but after mounting the picco i was suprised with the diff. drag racing??? this is the engine. but if you want t orace with this engine you really need to run rich or adjust your low end needle because the torqe of this engine will not let the front tires see the ground and i have my fuel tank and hump pack mounted in the front now. PICCO is the wayto go.....

I have the OFNA Picco .26 Max. I am totally struggling with it. I don't know a whole lot about engines but I wanted more power in my Revo. I did the research for best power on a drop-in engine, and decided on the .26 Max. I did not however research if it was a difficult engine to break in and keep a tune or any other problems with the thing... until after I bought it. I found out that they did a recall due to bad bearings. I also heard that the silver needle is defective in some. If it comes with a silver needle you should get the black needle. (Whatever that means!) I also heard that many of them shipped with chewed up o-rings and pieces of the rings were making there way into the carb and fouling it. Since I don't really know how to diagnose these things, I'm screwed. Now I can't keep it running long enough to break it in. It will idle as long as I keep a glowplug starter in it. But as soon as I take it out it cuts out. The manual that comes with the engine is ONE SHEET! I went to the Picco site and info is very limited there. I went to several forums and no one has any info to help me. I have three local hobby shops in my area and they either dont know crap about the stuff they sell or won't help me because I did not buy from them. I am so disappointed because I heard so many good things about this engine now I am out there on my own. I pretty much have given up and now I am in the process of researching the RB 323 and the O.S. TM. At least this time I am asking the right questions before I buy. I still would like to give the Picco .26 a try if anyone out there has any info to help me.

you are correct about the silver and black needle . I had a silver and it ran very poorly. A buddy sent me a black needle out of a picco 27 and now its runs. If you havent airsealed that engine, just get some and do it. I know the car and backplate has o-rings but its cheap insurance to know its sealed up. That was my prob. It was airleaking so bad the LSN was richen up so far that it stuck out about 3mm instead of the recommended 1mm. Give it a try, and if you wanna give up let me know I might be interested in it.

Ok heres proof lol. My vote is for the Sirio.. I have a .26 Maxx... you can see it in one of the pics.. the wheelie bar has become neccesary with my Sirio. It's unbeleivable what this thing will do now. My tires were a drastic upgrade as well... talons are a poor tire imo

Heres what I have done to my truck: Cool Billet control arms, Hot Racing wheelie bar, P2 rockers, 50wt shock oil, Pro Line 23mm wheel adaptors, Pro Line wheels, Imex Step Dawg tires, Motor saver filter.
I'm hoping to have a short video to post right away

Hey people, you've all got me way too intersted in putting a sirio .23 in my T Maxx now! What all do you use with the sirio? Will the clutch and flywheel assembly from a 2.5 fit on the sirio? Also what pipes do you guys use with it?

Yeah the clutch and flywheel will go straight on, although alot of people will recommend upgrading to a 3 shoe design. The Sirio engine comes with an engine mount and its own header. As far as the pipe goes.... if your not concerned about noise, go wih a Trinity high flow, it makes incredible power, but I dont like the excess noise, so I think I'm gonna try the RB Concepts pipe since it was designed for a .23. I got my Sirio cheap from e-bay, thats where almost all my parts come from.
