Hey xxx boat works,
So far I have heard many good things about your experience, If its not going out of bounds, could you please give some insights on a decent exhaust system.

QD website for 25ccHT engine without pipe, is $650. i wouldnt use there pipe, its very expensive. no clutch, collet can be bought anywhere for cheaper.
hanson 4 bearing engine: 3 lbs., 7.5 HP @ 17,000-20,000 rpm with tuned pipe (pipe not included) -- $779
id get a oneil brothers pipe. i saw oen recently and it was a very nice pipe. you can get the hanson pipe also, they sell the pipe and header seperate. pipes leik $85 and the header is liek $35 last i read.
but then again $850 with motor and pipe from quickdraw still isnt that bad. but why not save $100

Guys, the quickdraw website is going though alot of changes. You can no longer buy the engines in kit form. He also only sells the complete engines as a package with the qd hot pipes. The quick draw HT which stands for high torque is optimized with the qd hot pipe. You will loose alot of performance if you run a different pipe on that motor. The reason why Mitch at quickdraw now only sells the qd ht with the qd hot pipe for $850.00 is because guys were buying just the engine for $650.00 and throwing other pipes on it and the engine would not perform well and then people started to complain. So to aviod all the headache's he sells them as a package. Yes, you might think $850.00 is alot for an engine package but in all reality you will pay $600.00 for a full mod 260 and then a pipe....The qd HT is the way to go...most of them dyno at around 7.3-7.6hp. We have a few running in our club that run close to 70mph. I hope this helps,

thats why i put $850 isnt really that bad fo a price. if you were to get a bonzi full race mod motor its abtou the same price with a pipe, same with all other mod 260's.
if i change motor setups in my cat im puttin in a 25cc QD

The showtime hull you saw in this thread was mine, you may think what i was asking was high but go build one like it and then see, the guy i sold it to knew he was getting a good deal. If you have any questions on the build please ask me,

That i do not know, i bought the boat used already setup and never measured it, i will call Tom at Expresscraft and tell him what setup you are going with and he will give you a good idea as where you need to be.

Boat is going to look great with this setup.

Hello, here is the link of the build with its 1st owner, it should help you out on the build. The struts where shimmed for perfect alignment. He used ABC H50 props for the 79mph pass if i recall. You have to scroll down a bit to find the pics, the boat was built in 2005.

apache57stryker43,
That is a great link, thankyou.
Question, On his boat, the exhaust pipes are both going to the insides of the engines.
How can that be achieved, or is it a wast of time.

He mounted the pipes that way so it looked nice and clean, it is easy to do with quickdraw engines and harder to do with zenoahs. The cylinder is rotated 180 degree's, thus you have to mod the cylinder, flywheel, and piston. There are some engine builders that can do this for you (toxic marine, SS enterpirse) but its really up to you. To make the build a little easier i would not mess with it and it will keep the cost down.

And so it begins,
I cut and set the stringers temporarily with a hot glue gun.
Just need to position the engines and glass them in.

Question :
1) where did you set your CG at ?
2) are ya gonna use a pair of BUTCH BLOCKS ?
3) what props ya gonna use ?
4) gonna use skegged struts or ?
5) how far from inside side of gunnel is your shaft gonna be ? ( I set mine at 1 3/4 inch for prop clearance - yours looks right there as well )
6) what pipes/headers ya gonna run since you have not had the jug flipped ?
( I am in the middle of doing almost the same thing ... 'cept mine is with the original Systems 7 hatch running twin CY engines )

Hey,
I have non skeged struts from top secret
Don't know the cg yet as the engines have to be where they are in order to fit under the hatch.
Have no clew what a butch block is - please explain.
I am using wrap to center headers and pipes from warehouse hobbies.
As I continue to build, I will give all dimensions as I have them.
By the way, Anyone know where I can get 1/8" blue anodized aluminum tubes.

You are going to need the skeg struts for the boat to track properly. You do not need butch blocks (aluminum peice that the stuffing tube goes into and bolts to the hull). Just fiberglass them in as you will not have leaks etc and since you already have glass/resin you will save $50.00. Cg looks about right. Looking good!
