RE: What is your favorite Nitro RC
since your just learning to tune and all. The best advice i can give you is to get a truck with some sort of electric start. the pull start will be a pain if your just learning to tune. thats why i got discouraged with the xxx nt sport and never fixed it

I do have an ancient (and I mean ancient) AE buggy (gold chasis...). It needs a new motor, radio... Electric is nice but the running time stinks (only complaint).

nitro fanatic was talking about a electric starter (for a nitro engine) not a electric car.
I have never had a problem with pull starts. And I would stay away form electric start since they get burned up fast. I would think that a roto start is very easy to use. This is a advantage to the Associated MGTs stock engine.. You can use a pull start or a roto start.

my favorite nitro was the HPI Nitro MT racer, it was a kit and it was better and more beefed up then the regular MT. i had in it a OS .18 engine in it. that was when i thought Nitro was the coolest thing in the world.

Sorry about the miss understanding, was tired and did not fully understand. I like the reliability and low cost of pull start. If you get a pull start then you do not have to puchase a battery and a charger (about maybe $20 to $40). Just my thought. On my buddies revo 3.3 he took out the "EZ-Start" and replaced it with a pull start. So I do have experence starting an engine with a pullstart (not hard at all). just a thought.

Dokioto, what is the most abuse that you have thrown on your MGT and it has still survived (aka, no internal damage even though the body may look horible). The advantages of the MGT are nice with the PS and the Drill Start, fuel bottle and glow heater. The low price means that you can upgrade w/ RPM A arms (really nice and cheap[8D]) Just currious as I am considering the newest HPI Savage X but am woried that my LHS may not have any parts in for it[>:] (not good). just currious.

RE: What is your favorite Nitro RC
yeah, the ps will start a well tuned engine in one to three (at the most) pulls. for a poorly tuned engine it can take 3+ pulls to get the engine started. I like the "electric start" and the pull start on the MGT (another advantage) which means if I need to tune the engine I could use the elec. start (at home when tuning) and then when at my bashing site (backyard or field close to my house) I could use the PS. Got all that, my opinion.

I hear the EVO has a kindof weak motor[] and the reverse is built straight into the transmission, which means if the reverse dies, then you have to purchase a whole new transmission[&o] ($$$$$$$$$$$$)

RE: What is your favorite Nitro RC
what, it is made by Associated. The same co that makes the GT2 (the first car you told me to get). Personal opinion though, lower cost...

RE: What is your favorite Nitro RC
I just peeked at the review for it and people said that this thing is amazing. My only other question is, are the gears in the trannis and gearbox plastic[:@] or metal[sm=49_49.gif][sm=thumbup.gif][sm=shades_smile.gif][sm=teeth_smile.gif][sm=tongue_smile.gif][sm=wink_smile.gif][sm=cool.gif] Get the Idea, I love metal and hate plastic
