How much flap did you use mitroger? I locked mine after the factory said only to use 20mm as it will dampen the elevator. I find it slows down well with out flap but would be interested to hear how yours handles with them down as low as they are in the photo.

Jeremy, tell your camera man I threw up three times and had a seizure watching that video, HA! Just kidding, I know what a pain it is trying to video something going that darn fast. Love the F-22, I'm way jealous.

The plane itself actually takes a bit longer than my f15 to bleed off energy. We started cutting the throttle as we leveled out onto final and held the nose up only a few degrees. at about 1m off the ground I then start to feed in elevater and it will land as slow as a rookie. If you try and flair to early it wil launch into a high alpha position and start to climb. Is is a sleek plane and retains it's speed very well. I still need a few more flights to nail the landings but i'm on the right track. I'm taking it to the Temora jet meet this weekend where we have a 2km runway to fly off so i should be able to practice with plenty of room to spare. All i can say is the airframe is a very efficient design.
As for the paint it is loosly based n the first two aircraft to go to edwards. They seemed to be a lighter blue compared to the operational ones. It does show up in the air and I believe helps make it a bit more visible. Side on it is pretty hard to see so I fly it close, especially on final turn to base.

Jeremy,
Are you using any flaps at landing? And do I understand that flight was with a P-80?? Nice flight. Got me all excited to do mine.....

Hi Shaun,
I actually locked my flaps. The recommended throw was only 20mm whcih is not much. My worry was that if I did lower it more it could blanket out the elevator and at 20mm it would not be creating much drag. It does slow down but you have to come off the throttle a little earlier than usual.
The first 2 flights were with a p80. It flew fine and was even flown off grass!! for those who fly off tar this would be fine. I fly it only with tailerons and mixed ailerons. Feels rock solid in the air!
It now has a p120se installed and has had 4 more flights on it and it is alot faster and gets off alot quicker.
In the air you don't need more than 1/2 - 3/4 throttle most of the time.
Mine came out at approx 12.8kgs . It flies great. I'm considering getting another set of wings and trying flaps to see if they do reduce elevator effectiveness but it does and can be flown very slowly so i might just wait. One interesting trait is that as you pull the nose up and apply power for slow alpha passes if you get to slow the wings start to wobble, looks rather funny and is a good indication to hit that throttle. If it does get to slow the nose will start to push up itself due to the lift generated from the fuse (don't ask how i know ) and as long as you can get enough power on it will fly with its nose sitting up at about 50 degrees before climbing out. Looks very cool. For this reason i try not to get it to draggy and the nose to far up on final approach, only when i'm sure it has bled off enough energy to be flared.
I look forward to hearing how your flies

Sorry I haven't posted anything in quite some time, I've been working day/nights and weekends with a new assignment from work. So the 22 was on the backburner.
I've had an spare hour or 2 here and there and have made some progress, mostly finishing the gear doors. I'll post some pictures this weekend with some updates. Here's what I have left to do: turbine install, pipe, bypass, battery's), ecu, rx, wings almost done, and fuel system.
I'll list or just take pictures of the servos I'm using which are a mix of Futaba and JR. The Vectored thrust will not be installed this year because I need to get it right. This winter, I'll continue to work on the vectored thrust mechanisms along with a scale paint job with the help of my friends in Marietta Ga (Where the full size Raptors are built). My goal right now is to get some flights before it gets too cold, it's a race with the weather!
Thanks,
Chris

The retract and brake valves come with the retract package, along with tubing and t-lines. These parts are high quility and work great.
As you can see, all of the wood parts are laser cut.
Here's the list of servo's I'm using: Airlerons - JR 3421's, Flaps and nose wheel - Futaba 9303's, Stabs- Futaba 9155's, Rudder- HS-5125MG
Battery- will be a pair of Hobbico HydriMax 5-Cell 6V 2000mAh
