Looks normal to me. Temp range should be between 230-270 degrees. What % nitro are you using?

An engine that doesn't like to run once hot, but starts and runs once it is cool is usually a sign of a worn piston and sleeve.

RE: I just bought a tmaxx today with an o.s. 15 and I need some help
Thanks for the replys guys. I'm running 10% although I'll switch to 20% soon, I'm just using up the almost full gallon they included for now. I guess it's time to swapp the engine out for the included Traxxas .15, thanks tommy.
I'm wondering, between the Traxxas motor and the o.s. motor, since I have both, would it make any sense to swap any parts from one engine to the other, such as putting the cooling head(better cooling?) or carb(better performance?) from the O.S. to the Traxxas motor?
And one more question, I started to work on getting the Traxxas motor into the truck, and I'm stuck on moving the clutch from one engine to the other, I've never done this before so could someone please tell me how it's done?
Thanks.

I would run the traxxas mill as is, first and see how it runs. Those old pro .15's were nice solid engines, not overpowered, but a nice engine to run. If you have any issues with it, an O.S. carb is always a nice addition to a traxxas mill, but I wouldn't bother unless the traxxas one give you greif. Aside from the carb, there should really be anything else that will swap. If by chance the cooling head screws and flange line up, you'll want to be really sure it doesn't increase or decrease compression when mounted on the traxxas block, and be especially sure the piston won't hit anything. Basically, the head may swap, but I wouldnt recomend even trying.

Thanks for the help tommy, I took your advice and put the trx .15 only transfering parts from engine to engine as needed sich as the pipe, clutch, etc. I discovered the traxxas .15 carb was shot since I couldn't get fuel to flow through the fuel line into the carb, so I put the o.s. carb on and it runs great, never stalls, I'd have to guess 40mph top speed.
It swirvs by itself at high speed though when I'm running it on the road, does anyone know what could cause this? It's not normal, right? I mean, it swirvs enough to where it makes itself tippy.
Thanks for the help.
