It would be a big mistake to market it now.

I hope they've nixxed this idea...nitro is circling the drain, and this fresh assembly looks like an antique to me! I haven't seen anybody with a fresh, spiffy-new T-Maxx in a lonnng time...
The E-Savage, and the the VXL's are the future. I think nitro will become a niche, and very soon. The latest brushless designs are amazing, and more is sure to come. I would think a beefed-up "VXL" class WK would be better R&D money spent, and you can bet it's in the works.

Crawling WILL die this year. Why? Because it's become mainstream, and anybody with $150 can get in now. Same reason 4wd sedan racing died out, the RC cognoscenti has to be moving to the "next big thing" periodically, or bump elbows with us common folk. Right now, that snotnose down the street is unwrapping a new Venom Creeper...

Go back about three years, and the BEST crawlers were homemade rigs -period. Go back ten years, and only nuts like me were doing this, and privately climbing over laundry piles in the house. Crawling was BORING.

However, about that time, sedan racing had become mainstream, and anybody with $150...and going fast no longer took knowledge, just a drop-in ballistic motor. It only made sense that SLOW would be the next thing to do with an RC chassis. Besides, off-track, STUPID-FAST isn't much fun.

So what's the next big thing in RC? Not a gas crawler, trust me on this.

My money is on swampers, because:
We now have reliable waterproof electrics.
Solid axles are fully developed.
And it seems totally boring right now.

Nitros won't always be the hot topic but I don't see them disappearing anytime soon. They've been around since the 60's. Electrics came into view in the 70's. Swampers would be cool but the have the same drawback as boats. You need a very specific place to run them. Most people can run an r/c in their backyard. I live less than 10 minutes from a large pond but it's not worth the trouble to drive that far to play with a boat.

lol if you think swampers are the new thing R/C then maybe you've lost your marbles... Nitro isn't going anywhere in a long time, sure the support will suffer a bit because of high gas prices and superior electric technology, but don't even think that it will fall out of mainstream R/C... Crawling is still in its infancy, its going to be 5 more years till every company has their fully fledged trucks and then it will probably decline. The next area of interest is scale, where R/C companies look to create the most realistic performing vehicles with performance that outstrips their looks. No doubt about it...

I think the nitro king will do well, its going to be an awesome little truck and will replace the Traxxas Stampede for the premier entry level nitro MT. Not to mention that thing should be fun as hell to bash around with... Brushless is already gone... Yeah you can go fast, now find something else to do with it

And the NMK looks fun...ThunderbirdJunkie often wondered about the potential for a nitro WK

I was going to put it in a Super Nitro but have not even run the newer one I bought since it arrived. It makes for a nice wall ornament though!

This would make a sick mud truck (if we had any here in NYC lol.......) with the high clearance. Time to have ourselves a mini monster jam!

I like the looksand performance ofthis little truck. I alsolikethe sound ofputting a better engine in it too. Would this Picco12 be a direct bolt in for the truck and where can you get one? Thanks.

bchiz, it looks like the truck is not bump start friendly, unfortunately, and aside from some OOOOLD stuff, ThunderbirdJunkie is not aware of a Picco with a pull start.

However, even a .12CV would be more than enough punch for this sucker!
