Sorry, but I am!
I managed to squeeze my SUV last Saturday between some railroad tie fenceposts to unload my toys so that I wouldn't need to walk 100 feet to the edge of the lake. I could use the exercise though.........

Bleh I saw them throwing the Rio on youtube, but I know that I'm not going to to that. I'm not going to race, just have fun going around rocks, and drag racing full size boats, lol

I wish the Rio came with a clutch, because I like the idea that you could just pull up to shore and let it idle still without moving. Reverse would be nice too. I guess with the under a thousand, we aren't going to get those features.

Yeah... I've been into RC aircraft my entire life. 1/4 scale cub and a seawind float plane as of current.
recently purchased an electric heli, and trying those out as well... HARD TO FLY! but I love a challenge.

Dad got a camp next to a awesome lake, so yeah.... I need a boat now, lol...

I'm an RC freak in every sense of the word..... a proud freak

Yeah!!! Me too!!! I have nitro trucks/cars and 10+ planes, all nitro except 1 electric, 2 gas cars, 1 is a buggy the other is a truck. Now I have a boat coming and am planning here real soon to get a gas airplane. Gas is so much better than nitro IMHO!!

Yepp, because I planned on a nitro v 27 from AquaCraft, but the fuel has to be ordered and I can't use my airplane fuel in the boat...
lots of $$$ to, and I hear on the boat you could blow the head if not careful... Seems to much trouble for some casual fun...

The Rio got my attention because of the size and the fact it has, basicly, a weed eater motor that runs on pump gas.... seems easier to deal with, and worth the price IMO.

Price here too. lots of 'better' boats out there, but for the money and RTR I couldnt pass it up. I just have so many hobbies that I want to make sure I am going to absolutely love it before I go crazy overboard on it. 1000-?000 is a lot for something that I may end up running only a few times a season.

^^Word.....but seems the Rio has a great hull and is upgradeable... I plan on running stock for now, but if I like boating.... New motor with a clutch and reverse is in order.. I want to build a nice scale acting boat rather than a overly fast machine.. in fact if I can make it more heavy that would be great..

What color scheme did you get?... I decided to let Tower decide which colors to send me, lol.... I have an awful time trying to decide on that stuff..[>:]

Maybe a scale boat would be more to your cup of tea - the whole idea of having a petrol motor is to get some sort of half decent power which can be converted to speed.

The forum title should give a clue - Speed - RC Gas Boats!!

The Rio is by all accounts not bad once you get them fettled, but they are designed to go fast, might be a waste to go around at 10mph- there may be better boats out there that will suit you better runnign on electric and may well end up cheaper and more fun for you.

This is true...
Guess the size and being gas powered kinda gets my blood going, but yeah, maybe electric is the way to go..
I still like the idea of that water pump someone mentioned though... that way I can run slow without the motor over-heating..

I guess I'll just go ahead and get the Rio, fill it with gas, and read the manual step by step... Maybe I'll end up liking going fast with it... damn.... I want to order it tonight, but has to waite a few more weeks[] Have some other stupid things to pay for bleh.

Here is how to post pics... Get a photobucket account, and upload the pics to it from your computer. once uploaded, copy and paste the image url from photobucket between these tags [img][/img]

You can manually write these tags into your post...

I want to see that boat!!

OK, I'm back. I had to run out and get some stuff. You know, fuel for the new boat, shaft grease and oil, ice chest with lots of soda( actually says to get this in the manual, hahaha) I will work on those pictures now. I already have a photobucket account but just have never posted pics on this forum before. Be patient I'll get it figured out.

Here are the pics, looks better in person if you ask me. It is a very sharp and clean looking craft.

The little red one is a friends Aquacraft Nitro Hammer.
