Tunnel hulls don't normally run with a turn fin.
the lapcat's came with a turn fin in the kit to compensate for a design flaw, without it the hull is more prone to spin outs.
so no, don't put one on both side, have fun with this one and later if you want to get yourself a newer and better tunnel just upgrade and you won't need a turn fin.

DON'T PUT ON A SECOND TURN FIN ON THE LEFT SIDE
This is a common question that always seems to come up. Putting a turn fin on the left side will only make the boat try to roll on you in the corners. The boat is probably set up with a fin on the inside of the right sponson, putting a majority of the weight on the outside. That is where you want the weight to be. Putting one on the inside of the left sponson will "trip" the boat in a right turn as now all the wieght would be on the inside. For slow turns, it really doesn't matter, for fast ones it does
Darn, Dan beat me to it

All the Dumas tunnel hulls came with 1 turn fin on the right sponson too; strategically placed with the lower leading edge of the fin 1" in front of the CG. This was 7 1/2 to 8" from the motor mount to the rear of the fin on the Hot Shot 45 I built in the 80's.

RE: well heres a vid of my lap cat 2
Hey that's the same boat I have with the exception of a different paint job and a driver in the cockpit. I still like to run it but as I have gotten into electric RC off-road trucks I don't run it much. I haven't found anybody in my area to run with. So after reading this thread. I'm going out this Sunday to try my boat again. I have the same problem with it bucking but when I get it on plane it goes. I also have an old radio. I have been putting in 80w marine gear lube to lubricate the prop shaft. I'm having problems with keeping it running so I'll watch this thread to see how it goes.

I just saw the video of her running and yeah, you have a decent running boat there, but dude......Your gonna need ALOT more water than that to really appreciate the raw untamed horsepower thats justfighting to be released from that beast......But seriously you have a nice boat for the money, I'm jealous....

Here's a video of my LapCat II prowling around http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jVRqumwRhos
I saw a video on YouTube where somebody reached 76.8Kmh with the same hull.

Thanks, that was when it was running okay. Today I can't keep it running for more than a couple of laps. I think I better get my video cam back. it brings good luck.

LOL that vid was made in 07, if it's been sitting that long you might want to check the bearings, and flush all the fuel lines good to make sure theirs no gummed up oil in theme or the carb.

Well if you are referring to my video done in 1997 then here are the facts about that video. I had almost a pound of extra weight in the bottom of the hull to make that video. Since then my latest battery is a lipo not 4 Everyready AA. and transmitters have gotten lighter. I've put the same setup in myRC cars and they became slugs.

FMIIMAGES,
Have you tried seraching the NAMBA and IMPBA websites for other boaters/clubs to get with? Seems to me I've seen several baoters who were in your neck of the woods.
