Dave, the wheels on that Model A (At least on the rear) look like a set of 1935 wires of the 16” variety . Probably worth $350 each today.

Gary, the plane looks great in the bones. I have to admit though, I am just as intrigued by that old wooden case it's sitting on.

That is an old Vernor’s Ginger Ale case. Probably from the 1950s
Vernor’s was a Detroit treasure for a long time.

Lonnie once said "we need more gadgets". well. I just designed and made the most important tool in the history of the hobby. I call it the "TWD" (the Thread Wigger Driver).

you all know how it can take a half hour or more to install a Thread Wigger into Golden Rod without damaging the threads. well, this new tool will install a Thread Wigger into Golden Rod in less than 1 minute. yes, less than 1 minute, believe it..

see pics,
Pic 1) a Clevis.
Pic 2) a TWD.
Pic 3) shows a Thread Wigger installed, installed in less than 1 minute.

how slick is that?

an Important Note, don't forget, before installation use a Nut to lock the TWD to the Thread Wigger!

Thanks, FlyerinOKC, I love the Birdmen song. They dont make films like that anymore. My father is dead 19 years now. He was born in 1931. He told me that when the Americans came into the Second World War a lot of the American soldiers were stationed here in our town and he used to run erands for them . He was just a young school boy at the time and told me that for doing this they always gave him American chocolate and American chewing gum. They also knew that he had an older sister and brother who both smoked at the time and they would send him home with American cigarettes for my aunt and uncle. I'm 61 now but I remember him telling me these stories of the war. He also said that the American uniforms were more superior in quality to the British uniforms and that they looked really well on the young American soldiers. He said they were very kind and the people of our town were sad to see them go. At the end of the war in 1945, my father said that the attic in their house was full of American chocolate and chewing gum. Enough to keep them going for a long time. Good memories he had from growing up in those times. I enjoyed hearing all this from him.

Fine video. Watched it first thing this morning. Loaded up a very old Eagle 2 and headed to the field. Brought 2 gallons of fuel, just in case. Not that the Saito 50 burns that much

Breakfast stop on the way. Not real hungry but the waitresses are real good looking

Keep the great videos coming Makes us feel like flying!
