Revo better than Savage? You shouldn't have gone there. Comparing the two is a death wish. Maybe the reason you break Savage arms is because you haven't upgraded to RPM arms, the first upgrade any Savage owner should buy.

The Savage is easily more durable. Of course the Revo is better for racing as that is what it is designed for. As I said previously, I don't even consider it a monster truck, like the T-Maxx or Savage. It doesn't look like one with it's low profile design aka a truggy. The Savage and T-Maxx weren't ever built for racing so comparing them to the Revo isn't gonna work. The Savage and Revo are the best of both worlds. They both are very good at what they are designed to do and the T-Maxx is still a great truck.
Chassis wise, stock vs stock, Savage=Revo, and it comes down to what hardware you run in it, however...IMO, MY Savage is a better handling truck than MY old Revo EVER could've hoped to be, and BOTH are IMMEASURABLY superior to EITHER of my old T-maxxes. Highly modified vs highly modified, if you choose your parts wisely and set up your truck properly according to your driving style and terrain, in MY opinion the Savage is the better truck...but the Revo still rocks.
And TMAXXRich...you dug up a 2 year old thread

Beer=food or whatever, I didn't understand a word you said and I'm sure it would be harder to understand if you spoke it. I have a two Savages, three T-Maxx's, and my friends have the Revo. The fact is the T-Maxx is a good truck, especially the new one. And my name is not Brendan, mate. It's Brandon. Get it right.

Sorry Thunder, Wasnt really paying attention to the date, I have been in Iraq for the last year and really dont know what the date is today anyway lol. I think that repling to this post after so long brought up some pissed off people lol and i didnt mean to do that. But on the other hand seems that most people dont understand that everybody is going to have there own opinions about both trucks. I still like my maxx no matter what everyone else says about it. Just put a couple more mods on it for the hard bashing we are doing out here in Iraq lol (jumping our trucks onto connex's i.e. "shipping crates" that are across a 10 foot gap, i just put a set of truckzilla 7" tall 4"inches wide tiers and wheels on it and a few little odds and ends. Oh and for the guy that says that RPM dont make RPM parts http://www.rpmrcproducts.com/products/HPI/SavDex.htm there is the direct address to the RPM products For the HPI Savage. RPM makes stuff for just about anything except for duratrax. They might not make what you need but they do have parts. And once again i am sorry for diggin up this 2 year old post.

Alright i know i am new to this forum but hey i think that you cant really ask a question that nobody has the true answer too. Everybody is going to say different things about both trucks. I own a T-Maxx and i love the hell out of it. To make something better of course you are going to have to spend a little money on it. I have never owned a savage but i have seen them in action they seem like pretty good trucks. Like my T-Maxx i have upgraded all of the suspension with RPM parts. The only thing i replace now on the truck is a spur gear and glow plugs here and there. I am currently in Iraq right now and alot of us guys out here have rc trucks. If you want to put a truck through hell just come to Iraq and see how long you can go without breaking stock parts. Now all of the guys out here are rockin RPM parts except for duratrax truck we have out here. But hey like i said it is up to the buyer in what he or she wants to spend thier money on. This hobby is expensive and i am positive if you dont spend some money on your truck you arent doing much with it no pun intended. But i did hear that the savage is a little harder to work on then the T-Maxx but hey like i said it is all up to the buyer. Well thanks for reading and hope this helps you out bro.

savage > any traxxas truck. when it comes to toughness....nothing can beat a savage. and you can mod ur savage to run as fast as the traxxas trucks without worrying about breaking parts. I remember i broke some parts on my revo at the track while the savage ran all 2 years without any suspension parts or anything breaking. just switched out motors and tires.

RE: Savage X SS 4.6 vs TMaxx 3.3
Just IMHO on the topic:
Savage is tougher, but it handles like a brick on wheels. T-maxx handles sweet, but not near as tough.T-maxx is easy to work on, savage is a total pain to work on. Revo is tough and handles really nice, but is not really a "real" monster truck IMO.
It boils down to what you want. There is really no "best" truck. They all have their good points and their bad points. Buy what YOU like and not what everybody tells to get.

Compared to ThunderbirdJunkie's Savage, his T-maxxes (yes, that's plural) handled like stuck pigs and were harder to work on.
The Savage is THE EASIEST truck to work on out of the Big Four (LST, Revo, MGT - the T-maxx isn't even a consideration)

RE: Savage X SS 4.6 vs TMaxx 3.3
i still cant believe this compairson is still being asked !!!! these trucks are not even close to being similar....the savage is just a true all out bad boy of a mt...the t maxx was like a beginng mt sume what of a starting point if you will....and the revo is more of a truggy than a mt...come on guys...the savage is tougher than both the revo and by such a ridicoulos amount stronger than the tmaxx its not even worth talking about...the revo WILL out handle a savage everyday...and it should just look at it...but out of the box the savage is and for noe will remin a better truck...and this is hard for me to see look at my gallery im a revo junkie but my savages are tougher and out of the box faster....the t maxx just can not be inncluded with these 2 truckss...it is a different class...not sure what i would call it but its just not a revo or a savage

I will GUARANTEE you that a properly set up tmaxx 3.3 will smoke a savage on the track.
Not sure where you get the part that a tmaxx is harder to work on either. Everything is bolted to a flat plate chassis. It doesn't get more easy to work on than that.[
The savage is undoubtedly more durable and nobody is disputing that part.

Are you the one joking?[&:] I guess they will handle pigs if the suspension is all out of wack.
