RE: KMP OV-10 Bronco
Hi guys:
Great job on the models!! Its good to see most of them getting to the field this Spring. For those looking for optional engines that fit into the cow and can spin large scale props... you should look into the RCV "SP" series of gear reduced engines. They are all four stroke and can spin serious props. Check them out at www.rcvengines.com
Cheers[8D],

RE: KMP OV-10 Bronco
Hi all,
We flew the KMP (ESM in Scandinavia) OV-10 Bronco this weekend at a model event on a frozen lake in Norway. As mentioned before it flies very nice and easy with two 91FS, and it attracted a lot of attention as a real showstopper. Hope to have a video ready in a few days.

RE: KMP OV-10 Bronco
If anyone's interested I ordered my 1/5 scale OV-10 cockpit from dynamic balsa. It will ship by the end of this week, I will post pictures when it arrives. Is the nose gear on the D version in the wron place? I am installing a spring air 406 in the nose. I wanted to check placement first. Thanks!

RE: KMP OV-10 Bronco
The strut needs to be right below where the front wind shield side panels meet the pilots side canopy section. hope this helps. If anyone has pics of the latest batch that Andrew has received it would be good to see the changes made for retracts. Thanks...Don

The nose gear retracts forward...and is the same regardless of model.
The mains more or less force you to lengthen the gear door to the rear so they get in.

RE: KMP OV-10 Bronco
Low Show ,
What size tires/wheels are you using on your KMP OV-10???
I am working on one right now...I opened up the pre-cut retract slots and noted that the factory already set-up clearance for retractable gear...Interesting enough is that they set the nose gear to retract forward!! just like fullscale.... and the boom mounted mains to retract rearwards....
I am going to use SPRING AIR 400 series retracts per SPRING AIR Manufacturings recommendations

RE: KMP OV-10 Bronco
I have a pair of spring air 403 for the mains. I am waiting for a 406 for the nose gear. They have been back ordered for months, anyone know a robart nose gear that fits? I received my dbalsa cockpit today. I will post pictures tomorrow.

RE: KMP OV-10 Bronco
Sorry no pics as of yet, I had a busy couple of weeks just before the Nall and was there Sat. thru Sat. just got in a little while ago. I'm ready to start the recovering so I'll get a few shots posted. There was 1 KMP OV-10 flying at the event and I saw a part of both flights, really looked good up there yanking and banking. from what I could tell it had .91 4 strokes with 3 bld. props along with Robart retracts with straight struts. Thanks...Don

Anyone building the OV-10 should look into the Shindin Gear. The prototypes are almost ready. They are reasonable price too. Here are pic's of the early mock ups. Final fitting is being done now....

RE: KMP OV-10 Bronco
Hi
Here are some fresh pix of our ESM (KMP) OV-10 Bronco while we wait for the retracts. Our demo Bronco has custom fixed gear and flies with two Irvine 72 engines. As you can see it even handles basic aerobatics nicely, including loops, rolls, spins and inverted flight...Completely un-scale flying of course, but a real show stopper. People like to see something else and different than prop-hanging Extras or cruising Piper Cubs.

RE: KMP OV-10 Bronco
bill,
do your self a big favor, throw the instructions in the garbage they are literly crap!!
that plane will no way in hell fly on 60's or 91 four strokes i put 2 g-26's in mine and a buddy of mine is flying it like a bat out of hell with the g-26's also. any thing other will be a joke. you will need to add atleast 5 lbs of weight in the nose if not more the plane should weigh about 35 lbs when done. also the gear that comes with the kit work great for mixing epoxy. centry jet makes a scale gear for $750.00

RE: KMP OV-10 Bronco
I put Thunder Tiger Pro 120s in mine, I fly it at a little above 1/2 throttle turning Graupner 15/8 3bld. props, I put my Batts 2700 mah 6v X 2 in the nose and did not need to add nose weight using CJM Retracts, very robust and solid with no swaying. Flies great, lost an engine and the landing was less than perfect, repairing right now. I'll take a few pic when ready.

RE: KMP OV-10 Bronco
I'll get a few uploaded, I made a couple of changes on Bruce's units, also you may want to take a look at Kelo Creations to see if the have a manifold to relocate the carb around to the back, I know they have one for a G-62 that is kinda neat. Thanks...Don

RE: KMP OV-10 Bronco
Two 90 Two Strokes will fly this plane, very easily. I have seen them fly on 2 Saito 90 4 strokes and on 2 G26's
The plane can be built from about 24lb to over 30lb, depending on your detail and building style.
You can get landing gear made for this plane from Sierra Giant Scale. They have them in stock.

RE: KMP OV-10 Bronco
WOW!!! those Seirra retracts are 600.00 bucks[X(] Ummm...they look great but i can't afford 700.00 for the plane and 600.00 for the retracts. Any cheaper solutions, maybe robarts with some robo struts? Does anybody know where i can get some scale drop tanks for this bird? Like the one Richblin has?
