RE: Redwing RC 30cc MXS-R build and review.
Yep - I bought the yellow one as well. She's beautiful - that's for sure. I was originally going to do a pseudo-Breitling scheme, but I think I'm going to stay simple. I should have her in the air next weekend (fingers crossed). I'm running a DLE 30 on mine, and it's my first gasser. I'll be relying strongly upon the expertise at my club to help me keep the engine happy and purring.
Also - just wanted to say that Tim is awesome to deal with. I'm very glad I went with Redwing...

WOW!! Made it to a 3 pager......never thought that would happen.
I'd really like that 100cc with the DLE 111, with the way the 30cc flies that's for sure.

O.K. So the OS 160 was a good engine, but marginal. So...........
Swapped it for a OS GT33....went from a 16X10 3 blade to a 18X10 3 blade.
WOW! unlimited vertical now.
Needed 2 inch standoffs for barely 1/8 between spinner back plate and cowl.
Since I have a Smartfly in it, the opto-kill was a piece of cake to set up.
Only downside is the choke seems to be set up to be servo operated although there is a nice little lug toward the front to run a choke rod forward. (which is what I did) Push to choke pull to run.

After some early experimentation with Mezjlik carbon 18x10 3 blade, I run 20x10.5 apc and 20.5x10 apc on mine. Very impressive output from such small displacement
The OS160FX was a dawg in comparison. Have one of them too, on pipe and the 33 is much much stronger everywhere in the throttle curve

I'd like a 50CC RedwingRC MXS-R with the OS GT55! Can't wait to get video of my MXS-R.
You should see that thing haul an RC Guys Decathlon.
Oh wait there is video of the Decathlon.

I have this plane with a DLE-35, and I like to call it the Space Shuttle - with a 19x8 prop, it's truely a rocket! And at 4500' altitude no less - amazing!!!
