Hey dred, I was talking about the dubro heavy duty, I bought several from Troy Built. The one on my Yak lasted 12 flights. But that,s also on an SPE 43. The 3MM has so little vibration you could probably get away with sticking the rod to the carb link with a piece of duct tape and it wouldn,t come off LOL You also have a servo on the choke that can be used to kill the engine if need be. Just my opinion but the sullivan ball links are worth their weight in gold as far as throttle linkage goes

You guys might consider using a Dubro 2-56 bolt on ball link for 4-40 threaded rod. I've used them on every one of my gas engine installations with never a failure.

the order looks good on the carb and hop up kit, but I must say, that the hole you drilled and tapped on the pump cover is in a much different place than mine.... There are the two cast "holes" that don't go all the way through. you drill and tap the one on the right, if "walbro" is written right side up. it would be the hole above the "o" in walbro. just above and to the right of the screw that holds the cover on. I thought that it looked like the brass fitting went in a bit too deep, but I believe that it's due to it being in the wrong place. Bummer dude- I would get a second opinion from others on here before condemning yourself, but Mine which runs, is in an entirely different place.....

dred I hate to have to tell you this but you drilled the wrong hole in the carb plate[:@] you should have drilled the hole that has the raised section leading to it . that is where the pulse pressure channel is. The hopup kit replaces the through the block pulse circuit with the external line.

your welcome. by the way you will love that engine with the hopup kit, I've installed 2 and coached the installation of a third. all three engines saw a dramatic increase in preformance. I'd love to stay and play but everyone who got dirtbikes, atv's and other dangerous toys for Christmas are out breaking themselves and I'll be up taking X-Rays all night[:@] I hate when work gets in the way of my hobbies

Just wonder what the hopup kit does to gain the extra 200 rpm. Is the idea applicable to other gas engines?

I replace the stock 2 petal reed valve with a higher flowing 4 petal V shaped valve.

Hey Dredknot, How well did everything fit on this plane (i.e. were all control surface gaps straight and tight? Did the wings "fit up" with the fuse nicely? Did the landing gear fit the mounting holes? Were there any blems in the paint on cowl or pants? Did the cowls blind nuts line up with the fuses bolt holes? How tight is the fit of the wing tube?)? Also after your maiden check the control surfaces to see if they are all in the neutral position after it's trimmed out. Sorry to ask so many questions but I'm really interested in this plane and any feedback would be great. Your pictures look great but small details are hard to see. Can you shoot a few pics of the bottom to see the wings and canister tunnel? Best of luck on the maiden and keep us informed on progress and any issues. Thanks and HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Ruski ,i have not maiden my edge yet,i will do so on sunday if the wind is good.so far everything fit's the way it should, landing gear, cowl, wings, stab all just fell into place, the hatch needed a little work and now it A-ok.The only place that i think could be even better is a round the canopy where it meets the hatch,it's a little ruff, now that being said,it's still much better than the old do it myself canopy on my V2edge.
I'll take some more up close pics of the whole model, she is very much a looker and if she flies like the V2edge i would there to say tom has another winner

Everyone I maiden my edge yesterday, It could not have gone better, from takeoff to landing were as good as could be. This edge is the same as the v2 with a hot new paint job and to me looks even better in the air than the v2. With its long nose it looks fast on the ground and in the air.

The hop up kit and TOC works great together, I only got around 150 more rpm but it pulls much harder, idles better, it maybe in my head but it starts easier. With this edge and the way it is balance I need know mixing for knife edge. I may need just a little mixing in high alpha knife edge. I do need lots of rudder on the top line; she is pulling to the left.
It is so good to get pass the first flight on a new bird.

Thanks for your help everyone .I will post some pictures later ,having some problems up loading.
