well i found a supercharger for this engine and the funny thing is that it was designed for a 2 strock be the way those enginges work it's pointless but it's perfict for the wankel

A turbo 13b for a second gen rx7 is lighter than the 1.8 in the miata. Something like 20lbs lighter. Both are far lighter than your V8. Really.

Just look at them! Gimme a break. The rotary is one quarter the size of a v8, to weigh more it would have to be made of lead, or maybe uranium.

A rotary is the size and weight of a 1.3, has the power of a 2.6 and gets the mileage of a 3.9. Not exactly.... of course....

couldbe, it's a proven fact that a Ford SB powered 2nd gen RX7 is indeed lighter than a turbo 13B powered one.
Not to mention that my buddy's FC gets worse gas mileage than his 3/4 ton Ford pickup with a big block.

where did you find the supercharger, and how well do you expect it to work? everything i've read on superchargers for nitro says they arent really worth the expense. the superchargers i've seen at www.rbinnovations.com seem to be overpriced for the amount of boost they provide. i forgot where i saw it, but some time ago i saw a TURBO charged glow engine. dont ask me if it actually worked, cause i have no idea. but it seems to me that with miniturization technology today, someone, somewhere, has a functional turbo on a glow engine.

i didn't think of it like that, thx. i'm doing some checking with my Mazda techs to get an idea how much boost you may be able to safely run. One i talked to said he wouldn't recomend it, however, he is not our "Rotarhead" here, and he knows nothing about model engines. im waiting for our main rotary tech to come back from vacation to get a second opinion. he has expressed an interest in this project, and once it reaches completion, wants to get copies of the plans.

Didn't I say rotaries get crappy gas mileage?

And wow, a proven fact... blantantly ridiculous, but still proven....

Try a link. They are easy.

Here is one:

My V8 weighs 460 lbs...FULLY DRESSED. manifolds, ac compressor, ps pump, water pump, throttle body, etc...
how much does your turbo, manifold, ic, ic plumbing, etc add to your wankel?

we all know that if you buy a rotory unless it's an Rx8 you better expect horid gas milage but just so you know i'm playing both sides of the fence i own a 67Rs camaro that i'm in the prosses of giving 800 hp with a new ls7 but i love the sound both the wankel and a big inch V8 put out so it mattes not how heavy they are to start but how light and powerfull you make them the plus of the rotory is it's high RPM range with the right light waight parts and apex seals they can mat 13000 Rs and i'll find a sight on that soons as i remember were it was....but that makes them great for autocross and drifting were as the higher output of the ford v8 and other v8s in the lower Rpm range make them formidible road weapons in a drag race so who cares whats what just pic a car for what purpose you are going to use it for and leave it at that

ok, i checked with our rotary guy and he wasn't able to tell me to much. he did say that the biggist issue would be the apex seals. if you run too much boost, they start to chatter, then the engine is toast. he did tell me that a stock 1.3L rotary can handle up to 15 psi with no mods to the apex seals. soooo, i'm guessing 1300cc/5cc=260. 15psi/260=.057psi. i'm not sure if that would be the true limit or not. maybe just a starting point for more R&D.

what about custom building your own chassiss? just get a flat piece of aluminun then add shock towers, motor mounts and such. it might not be pretty, but it would be functional. this is the rout im gonna be taking when i build my 1/5 scale gasser.
