RE: Boomerang Torus CG modification
Backer pieces installed.. using BVM"polyply" this stuff is STRONG
Outer skin (more polyply )will be attached to these, then sanded, then
filled with thin "evercoat" and sanded again. When complete, you won't
easily see any joints......

Wow,
This is what is great about RCU, I would have never thought of doing it that way, I would have done it the old fashion way
Use some balsa glued to the inside to make the form and glassed the outside, when cured sand away the balsa and glass the inside to make a nice lap joint...
Keep up the good work

Irepaired adamaged plane once this way and it turned out to be very strong.
But your way would have worked too. Ihave some CF stringers in there
that really makes it strong...and YES RCUand R/CGROUPS are great this way
since there is a wealth of info out there and more being posted every day...

Nice job. Hope that filler doesn't crack. ?
Between the extension and the nose hatch I think you will be in good shape.
I can't remember how much I ended up adding to mine but I was pretty careful to put the heavier stuff like the UAT and pump way far forward. Kept thinking there must be a way to get more weight up in the nose. I think I am going to have to get brave and cut a hatch into the front and stick my A123 2300's up there. Right now I have them and the ECU battery on the shelf on top of the gear.

RE: Boomerang Torus CG modification
OK all sanded and the first primer coat applied!
Iam using a basecoat+clearcoat system from
Rust-Oleum which is what I used on the version that Ihad
where Ifiberglassed the wings, tail and appendages.
The color match is almost perfect. All Ihave to paint here is white!
if anyone is going to duplicate this here are the color numbers:
Rustoleum "ULTRACOVER" white primer # 249058
" " gloss white # 249090
"" gloss clearcoat # 249117
IF you ever need to match the black and/or red.. here are those numbers
gloss black #249122
apple red # 249124
Next is a little wet sanding then color coats

RE: Boomerang Torus CG modification
Yes the top deck is all done except for adding the color to the
"cockpit" shelf surface... once that is done Ican fit the canopy
the "fitting" only takes 30 mins or so!

Thanks, it will be reday to final balance in a week or so
then it will need a maiden flight which Itypically do at the
Farview Flyers field in Hamburg Pa. The weather is becoming iffy
so who knows when that will be. Iusuallyget someHD video footage of the maiden
so Iwill post that here when it happens. See Videos by "geh3"on YouTube!
