This worked for me on a lite-weight add on stack. I measured the outside dia of hex bolt and drilled the stack bolt holes a few thousands smaller and forced it in place. It never came loose. I did not even add some sealant...but that would help too.That way you need NOT to remove the carb bolts. Regards, Capt,n

I don't have too much interest is arguing which brand of oil is best or which is worst.
I can tell you this. I attended the AMAEXPO in Ontario about 10 days ago. DA had a booth there. I asked one of the DA reps there if they still recommended Amsoil mixed at 100 to 1. He said they used to but don't anymore because Amsoil changed their formula about 4 years ago not to their liking. They did have an oil on display and it was Redline. He also said DA was fine with several different brands of oil and they no longer recommend one specific brand of oil only.
Some people will swear by a brand or mix ratio of oil and others will swear at that same brand or mix. I think any major brand mixed properly is fine provided it is designed for air-cooled two stroke engines.

+1 on any good oil mixed right. Most of the folks who fight tooth and nail about defending Amsoil are Amsoil dealers. I bought a new Brison engine some years back and Gary Allison the owner at that time told me Amsoil at 100/1 was fine untill I had to send the engine back for repairs. I was on the Lawn and Garden equipment site a couple days ago and there was a big fuss there about 2 cycle oil as we have here on the model boards. Cracks me up. Brian

I don't like having multiple cans of various gas/oil mix around, and have paid attention to all of the lengthy research a few folks on these forums have reported on. In the end there are several very good options. For me, the best option was to pick a single oil I trust, that happens to fall in the 'several very good options' category, one that I can use in all of my lawn equipment, and hobby engines confidently. This way I am constantly mixing up a fresh container, and never have old mix around. Stihl HP Ultra is my latest craze 
I was a die hard Pennzoil fan prior to my source going dry. I get a very good deal on the Stihl, and it is readily available.
Karol, do you have something I can fly if I swing down for a visit? When I woke up this morning it was 8 below with wind chill.

I have used Amsoil Saber forever in my gassers. Never had any problems. I recently purchased an evolution 15cc engine. They specifically say DO NOT USE AMSOIL. Not sure why but they say to use Valvoline so that's what I use in THAT engine.
As far as Gasoline is concerned. Use 87 octane ETHANOL FREE gas.

I have been using Amsoil Saber now for 8+ years and hundreds of flights. But, I am running on DA 50cc, 100cc and 150cc engines with no issues....ever. Also in Zenoahs with no issues. I have a buddy that is a retired engineer and rebuilds engines for "extra income" in retirement. He only recommends Amsoil Saber and is using it in all of his Saito 4 cycle and the 4 cycles of Saito and OS that he has converted to gas. I just started using it on my Saito FG-36. We do mix it to 20:1 for the 4 cycles, and they won't take the abuse of less oil and will come apart according to him.
Now, some of those smaller "Chinese" engines, may not be as tolerant to the oil, due to less quality of metals and manufacturing tolerances and internal gaps. This maybe why you aren't getting the clean burn. It also looks to me...IMHO....you are running those engines too rich via your pictures. Should be a "light brown" in color for proper burn. I have had students use Amsoil in some of those engines, like the .17 you are talkign about, and we never could get it to run right and produce power. Maybe the Amsoil had something to do with it, but we wrote it off to a cheap Chinese junk engine. Because we did try other oils, and no good results.
It isn't for everyone, but to me, if the Best American Engine manufacture recommends it to use in their engines......then guess what? That is what I am using. DA is warranting their engines for 3 years using the stuff!! As most know, DA is a "high end" engine. But, they are dependant of the company's reputation using Amsoil Saber. To each his own......it is like, do you like a Chevy or a Ford?
