First one had issues and crashed. They made corrections from what I hear and are probably flying a prototype by now I would assume. This is the best part about BVM is they test it so the customer does not have to beta test.
The best beta test team ever was Fly Eagle. They had some of the best modelers out there testing.
Only problem was they forgot to tell them they were beta testing.
Yeah, with 2 kids & no build time, PNP sounds really good now a days. Dustin just posted this pic on FB, it looks really nice. He said it's a similar size to BVM/Tam's old venture but a lot lighter.
I was out at the field with Dustin during the test flights yesterday. Despite the not so perfect weather conditions the new PNP F-18 flew great and was a total success.
So this should be another good selling plane for BVM.
Thanks Greg, this thing makes a lot of sense to me. I'm kind of over dragging giant planes down to the field that I can't even close to load or unload them off of my stand when they're all put together. Will PNPs work with any radio brand? Specifically Futaba?

You can use what ever brand of radio/receiver combination you want as far as i know. If you have any more questions just contact BVM. They will answer them for you.
They don't come with a receiver installed.

Sad part about the PNP Jets will be that half of the guys that buy them, will have no idea on how to fix, or adjust them, when something goes wrong. Just like with primary training models came out. The new student had no idea on how to fix, trouble shoot, or repair them. Remember, I said Half! The other half will be experienced jet guys who have built jets. So, this leaves the more experienced guys fixing manufactures issues or dumb thumbs issues at the field.

Good thing the noobs have support from BVM's knowledgeable staff. BTW - there are people with limited experience who buy kits and have someone else build them... and they have no support.
Gents...any updates on this one...I heard it was going to be at FL jets and for sale at BVM soon thereafter. Did anyone see it fly, any first hand reviews?
I have one over a year now , all I can say , superb ! That gear just rocks (very scale in function and looks) ... flew on a P-140RXI in a very scale like manner , now has a P180RXI with reduced thrust to 16Kg ... perfect . It's the perfect size for one person handling .
Flight characteristics : rock solid , no bad behavior as far as stall characteristics, landing is a breeze .

So you're saying that inexperienced RCers can't learn how to maintain their jets successfully? Just because a modeler doesn't have a ton of experience does not mean they can't learn to repair and maintain their jets properly.
Man some peoples attitudes now a days are just crap, seems like there isn't a single thread anymore that doesn't have negative and pointless comments. Always going to be people who build, others who don't or can't. It has been that way since the beginning. Not sure what has happened to folks so much negativity. Seems like there is plenty to be down about in the world that a hobby that is supposed to be about fun shouldn't be. If it's not the keyboard quarterback it's the left clicker buzz killer. Just sad.
