Please tell me where I can buy a balancing jig as you have. That is impressive.

Speaking of Adverrun, can anyone give me some guidance as to where I can buy the 2x2mm screws for the spinner to backplate assembly.

Thanks checho4. The screws you suggested do NOT fit the Adverrun CD spinners. These Falcon screws are 5x2mm and are too long and besides that, the threads are different. Thanks again, at least you tried.

Hi,

Falcon spinner screws are M2.5x6 .

M2 size screws are widely available, however 2 mm long ones are quite special. You may need to get longer screws and shorten them e.g. with Dremel.
In the US metric screws are not that common but you find M2 screws in well equipped hobby shops selling RC helicopters like Amain Hobbies or Anything Heli. Lynx has M2x3 button head screws, but availability in the US could be poor.

Hi ini, I appreciate your response. You have provided more accurate information and guidance as to where I might be able to buy them. Thank you.

Hey, You´re welcome!

Something that struck my mind is that the AVR screw might also be M2.2 . That is actually a relatively common thread size too.
You should check the thread outer diameter with a caliper to be sure. In metric threads the nomination comes from outer diameter & pitch, e.g. M8x1 (where 8 is outer diameter and 1 is pitch in mm´s). In standard threads (not fine etc.) pitch is omitted. To make make a little less clear the screws are described by thread x length (e.g M5x20). The outer diameter is normally sligthly less than nominal value (0-5 % less).

Some servo screws may also be suitable for your needs. Esp. KST micro servos have M2.2 screws.
In the first picture you will see 2 Falcon spinner screws (M2.5x6), 3 KST servo screws (M2.2x5) and a single M2x5 screw.
In the second pic there is a Robbe servo accessories bag with 2 M2x5 screws.

Hi again ini. Your above recommendations have really opened up my choices. Next I will carefully recheck the measurements of the screws with my digital caliper and narrow down my search. I felt certain these sizes were available somewhere but, the search is not always easy. Thanks again.

I started with 0.7° wing incidence, relative to the Stab
I decided to increase to 0.9° for tail attitude
Easy task to be accurate with CK AERO - BRYAN HEBERT tools
Problem now, I have to adjust the down thrust ...
I will check the CG too, after the chat I had with BJ
My initial CG was in fact too far back
240 to 245 mm seems to be an optimum CG with a wing incidence close to 1°

48 flights on it, started with 220 mm from the Leading edge, now i am in some point arround 245mm.
incidences are the stock ones: 0.7 wings, -2 pf DT 2. RT
the only mix that i have is the thrott elev about 2%

on high rudder requeries little bit of the same direction aileron.

the spins are different but now i am starting to like it, rolls are very good, and the way that the plane draw the lines is the one of the best things that it has.

final weight 4.900 grams with pletty, d3, TP6000 mah, mks 737 on wings, 747 on rudder,hv69 on stabs.

here are one

of the logs with the flight coach hardware

flight coach? Haven’t heard about that lately. How’s that working out? Got a link to an active thread about it? What’s the incidence between the fixed stab and the wings and the thrust line? Same as you posted or were those relative to the fuselage? Have you inquired about the T-can brake? I want that but can’t get anything from BJ if he’s going to make that an option and if so by when.

Check this web site: www.flightcoach.org

the incidences of the stabs are fixed, i assume the stabs at Zero and then measure all from this ( tcan, motor, and wings) motor: -2, or 2 of DT; wings +0.7; Tcan +0.5.

havent asked for the tcan brake, isnt any interest for me, but will ask BJ about it and let you know.

Wings are swept

the line of the wings and the stab are lowe on the fuse, the rudder doesnot have balance, and is also taller.

J-P,

Thanks for doing this build thread and initial flight trimming information. I found your information useful and helpful in completing my Epilogue ARC version. We are having great spring-like weather currently here in SE Texas. I plan to maiden it soon.

Great looking model. I really like your color scheme, but I’ve always found the yellow base with red and black trim to be very visible. How did you like the Wing’s West paint?

This is the 2nd project using Wings West. Having limited experience painting I look for a paint system where I could buy small quantities that match Monokote. The added plus is being able to reach out to the seller who is an RC modeler for tips and advice. After shooting color I wish I would have spent more effort sanding to achieve a smoother surface before applying the clearcoat, however, I am very pleased with the final results in regards to gloss and added weight.
