RE: 2 minute flight times
There's another option that I was considewring so here goes....
There is a file called 'hosts' that can be used to add IP addresses so that you do not (necessarily) need to use a DNS server. The file will be in (on a typical Windows 2000 install)
C:\WINNT\system32\drivers\etc\
If you open up an explorer session (Start -> Programs -> Accessories-> Windows Explorer) then you can go and find this fodler and the file called hosts will be there (along with other files).
Right mouse click on the hosts file and select Open With ... You will get a pop-up window with a list of applications. Scroll down until you find Notepad and click on it and click OK.
The hosts file will contain a bunch of header text (with # at the begining of the line - so these are comments) and will look like this at the end of all the coments
# For example:
#
# 102.54.94.97 rhino.acme.com # source server
# 38.25.63.10 x.acme.com # x client host
127.0.0.1 localhost
207.44.242.117 www.like90.com like90.com
Add a new line like the one in red above (just click after the localhost word, hit enter/return and type the line in)
Then click on File (at the top of the Notepad window) and Save. Leave Notepad running - if this does not work we will remove the line that you just added.
Next open an MS-DOS command (cmd) and type
ipconfig /flushdns
then enter/return
Now start a new Internet Explorer session and try to get to www.like90.com
If it works then great, if not then lets remove what we just did.
Go back to the Notepad window and delete the line that you added. The click on File and Save again. Now close Notepad.
