I can't wait to get it broken in so i can have some fun.

I honestly don't think it needs any mods, although I'll probably get shocks. Anything else for this chassis is going to be for the bling. It's all really heavy duty.

It also comes with a bunch of extra parts and an extra set of smaller hex hubs(14mm) for different wheels. The DirtBonz uses the 17mm hubs.

Nah, it gets plenty of air and the cooling head is the size of the motor! Oddly enough, I'll have to use a hot glow plug to keep the temp up. In the summer I would use a cold plug.

Okay, just curious, as I usually see the nitro car w/ a big hole at the front so the air will flow through...

The TCs do, they are lower so less air gets under the body. This body's design allows a lot of air to pass through the chassis.

I think you should wait for the 5T to come out.

Seriously, the manual says to use a steering servo with no less than 160oz/in of torque[X(]

I have a 3305 for steering and a 3010 for throttle. The 3305 does fairly well, but has a hard time on the carpet. Unfortunately, there is no room for a 1/4 scale servo.[&o]

Yeah, for a car that size, the option to run 1/4 scale would be nice, as it is so much cheaper..

I mean, if you want to get a digital servo that would give you 160 oz-in+, it would be pretty expensive.. compare to a 1/4 scale servo, where 333-oz-in is like $38.. LOL! (not to mention fast.. the S3306 goes 60 degree in 0.16 sec!!)

Tower is allowing the pre-order of the gear-set now.. I will need to order a couple of set.. to rebuild my stripped servo.. at least now they have the servo saver, so it should be okay in the future!!

Got to wait until the end of January to get those gears, though.. argh!! [:'(]

Got the truck started today, but I wasn't able to run it very long. I was able to get it started and running enough to do a circle, but the motor is still very tight. Unfortunately nobody sells the cheap glow starters so I had to get a rechargable one. I don't mind either way as I would rather have this one, but it needs to be charged for 14 hrs. I was able to charge it for like 40 minutes on my drive home, it just wasn't enough though to get it started back up once it cuts out.

That's the only thing holding this up. Tomorrow I'll get back out and try the heat cycle again.

Is it a pull start?!

Would be interesting to see the Savage tomorrow if we are meeting up.. although we might see the track first, no?!

I'll be breaking it in tomorrow, but we can run the track too. The heat cycle method allows you to run the truck normally, but you do it in 2-3 minute runs. alet it cool and then run again.

Ya, put start, the roto start for this motor is $50. I can pull start it.

Hehe, but that air has to come from somewhere.. Most manufacturers recommend a hole in the windshield so air can get inside your body to cool the head, and come out the rear. Also, glow plug filament temps depend on the amount of nitro your fuel contains.. The lower (20%) should use a hot plug, higher (such as 33%) would require a colder one.

Anyways, have fun with that!

Ah ok, well then there you have it. I bought 20% today and medium plugs, do you think I should get some hot plugs?
