RE: Finished my Lightning this morning
Sean,
Thanks for posting the recent pics of your Lightning.
Being new, I really appreciate the opportunity to see
how you experienced guys layout the interior. Your's
is absolutely great. The info and data that guy's like you
post is a great help to us new guys.
Good luck on the maiden, wish I could see it.

Hey Sean - watch out for elev pitch sensitivity as others have said. I just maidened mine and even on Ray's low elev throw/expo it is very sensitive. I'm glad I had a 3rd rate programmed lower than Ray's. I'd suggest more expo or add another rate like I did before the maiden. Ailerons were fine on Ray's low rate.
My maiden didn't end so well. I lost the right tire off the rim on takeoff. How the hell that happened is still beyond me & others. I thought I lost the whole wheel, but I couldn't tell on a few flyby's. After a little trim, I flew for 10 minutes to burn fuel & shot a few approaches. Flying off grass I was worried about the right leg hooking and going into the pit area. I elected to land deadstick & gear up. I also landed flaps up to prevent wing/servo damage - which was probably a mistake. Thus I came in a little hot with my clean airframe glider and slid on the rough grass. Damage isn't too bad & I should be back in the air in a couple weeks.
Here's pics of mine before flight...

Wow, the Lightning's interior is really clean! Sc0tt, did you paint the inside grey, or does it come like that?
