RE: ****OFFICIAL ROCK CRAWLER THREAD****
that is alot of weights kuppler....lmao i got the same ones, i just went to goodyear down the street and bought them from a hungry mechanic that needed lunch money....lol anyway how are you putting yours on, i cut mine into thirds and put them on the whole inside diameter of the wheel. the strip of them is about 1/8 inch wide and goes the diameter of the wheel. i havent had time to test it yet though, shoulder surgery in a couple more days and the have to heal.
i also figured out the deal with my drive shaft in the rear popping off at the pivot point. what i did was take a 1/8 x 2" zip tie and pulled it around where the shaft pivots but not so tight that it binds and wont turn. i just sinched it down until it was touching the shaft around the full diameter. it doesnt rub and it worked great as it can climb up walls until it would flip over, before it would just pop apart after about 6 inches up the wall, i know its not called a wall climber but i wanted to see the torque it had and will definately put it through the paces asap. this fix will do until the aluminum upgrade shafts are available. how much longer before the hop ups in the back of the book are available, i checked the site and they just show all the stock parts.
i started my tube chassis build but its going slow as i said i am functioning with only one arm as my shoulder is jacked up. the tendons and muscles are tore and the bone has spurs but will soon be cut open and repaired i hope. when i am done with the chassis i wont be able to take all the credit though since the wife is helping me bend and figure degrees of bend on some of the main tubes, and of course now she thinks shes an r/c guru....lmao she wants me to get her a mini losi crawler, i may have to go to the lhs and see if they have one.

I will try to get a close to date for the upgrades
Good luck with that surgery, i know a few people who had that, they had a thing they wore on there arms that would limit movement and the doctor would adjust it every week to give a little more, i think it was for 4-6 weeks but they were all fine after that, wost was they couldnt move their arm over their head as easy to scratch their back like they coould before.

Any problems with the crawler so far? Any thing that needs to be modified?
I read it comes with a 2000 mah battery pack and someone here said it comes with a 3000 mah pack? Which one is it?

It would be a wise idea to shim the pinion better onto the ring gear in the diffs, they are a little loose and can end up slipping.

I own a crawler already but, i was wondering about the speed controller. how is the stepping on it? is there drag brake? is it instant reverse? Will it handle a 27turn? Is there a specs sheet on it I can look over?

I will try to get you some info on it, It has drag brake(locks in neutral), brake then reverse. I am sure it will handle a 27 turn but the crawler comes with a 70 turn.

I am running a moped v16 and it is a second before the reverse kicks in and i need a esc that will instantly reverse so i can get out of spots with out flipping. the 70t motor is to low in speed for my car i tried a 55t and it was like watching paint dry. my final is 47.6:1

lol, like watching paint dry. I will try mine and see if reverse is instant or maybe someone else will chime in before I get a chance to but I honestly didnt pay attention when i would hit reverse. Isnt 27t too high for crawling? I would think it would put alot of stress on the esc.

Is the shimming really needed? Will the diffs wear out if I dont do it? I am like a 7 year old on Christmas, I dont have patience to work on it and not ride it. I already have my battery charged and ready to go.
Tomorrow I get it!!

RE: ****OFFICIAL ROCK CRAWLER THREAD****
I just got my crawler and I have a question. On the cover of the manual, it says it comes with a "Included 1st pinion."
My question is what is the 1st pinion? The crawler came with tires, remote, battery, charger, and thats it. I didnt see anything that looks like a 1st pinion. Any ideas?
Thanks
BTW, the crawler looks sweet!
