"Hi Ron it would be a pleasure to sent you all the details to do our Mig..."

Hi Henk, I've been out of town for a week. I had to fly model airplanes outside of my state.

I would consider doing a copy of your aircraft... Do you know if your MiG owner-friend intends to redo the outer surface of the aircraft and markings, or would he leave it as it currently is? (That could get to be quite an expensive and time-consuming task) Also, would he keep the Russian markings, or would he return to the Polish markings?

My kit has the PFM spine (per photo), although that appears to be the only significant difference. I would be willing to consider cutting into the spine to get closer to the wide spine your MiG has. Going with the Polish markings might make it more of an interesting aircraft too (for me). I cannot find many photos of either the Russian or Polish 21 with the white striped tail. In my case of no good photos to replicate, I'd have to then stick with going with the Soesterburg MiG.

See also below another MiG I took photos of this last weekend. Also with a PFM spine, it appears. I can't vouch for authenticity of the colors, but it looks nice. [8D]

Hi Ron!

I hope you enjoyed your week flying jets

I told my friend to get rid of the Russian star, and go for the Polnish markings!
Maybe I have to do this painting my self

This weekend the Mig will be cleaned and the wing will be removed again to located it under roof at the company.
During winter we will work on hydraulics and lightning systems...next spring we will apply clear lacquer to protect the orignal markings since everything is in pretty good shape!

I think within the next few week I will visit my friend to take some more picture's and cockpit details!

Best regards, Henk

Hello Henk, if you are still around here on RCU... I am waking this thread from storage. Has your friend made any progress on restoration of his full size MiG? I have been working very slowly on my MiG-21 model, but I have the Flite-Metal surface finally applied, and will need to start considering color schemes again (Russian jet versus a Polish scheme). Thanks!
