Just a lot of extra maintainance. Besides, with that big cheater hole on the bottom, it's not very scale, anyway.
Save the retracts for your next jet, which probably won't get banged up like this one will. If they are already installed, might as well use them. There is very little difference in speed in this plane with the gear retracted...I have owned both versions.
Off to bed, gotta go.

At some point you have to knock it off. I know you are new to jets, and you can use all the friends you can get. It's a pretty small jet world, mostly very nice guys, but you can get a bad rap pretty quickly, especially on the net, and you will burn a lot of bridges to a lot of people who can really help you with their experience.
I've gone turbine, and I have a whole LOT to learn about that. I rely on the more experienced guys out there to keep me from learning everything the hard way.
Glad your 25 powered sabre worked out, that's great. Better than stock. But, I think at this point, you will have to accept that the thing DOES fly in the stock condition. You can't just say "Hmmm...it's junk." Because I flew mine just fine. As did many others. So, let's drop it already, it's getting silly. I really don't need the e-gument.

Hey, how did you dig this up? Funny thing is, after all this time, we STILL never found anybody who had flown the F16!
I've been called worse than a snot here. Sloth, for one. And FT and JC sent me LOOOOONG nasty emails, calling me worse than that!
Let's all have a group cry, then a group hug. Awww......

All Kyosho DF's Suck
In my experience all the kyosho glow df's are bearly capable of acheiving flight! I was going to purchase one until I saw one fly (just!). Definately not worth the $510US!! But for $80US you can get an F-18 Electric from the electric jet factory. And Min. motor required is a sp480race $35US, then a wemtec mini 480 $45US, a 25-35ah spd cnt $depends on batts, bat pack and charger! This would easily come in at $400-500 and you might be able to sqeeze in a high performance motor at thet price! I dond know what nitro these engines run on but most .15's run quite a bit of nitro! so the batts are worth it. Just pay me out if Im wrong on anything
And by the way the F-16 has a CV** car engine with mods. $150-$200US.
BYE

Well I love my little T-33. The price you quote for the EJF is a little higher than my investment in my T-33, and I can easily hand-launch it and do consecutive loops, rolls, inverted passes, etc, all on a 7-cell car battery. This is the plane that lives in my car trunk, for when I'm out and have that craving to go fly. A fun sport plane that I have found to fly just fine out of the box.

Kyosho DF's
I was kinda reffering to the glow models with a little os cv car engine they retail for about $510 4 fuse, motor, fan. The EDF versions are underpowered stock (you have to admit that!). Download a video from their site of the cox f-18 and compare it to to kyosho's glow df's. BTW how much did it cost you to set up your T-33 and has the f-16 got the same flight characteristics??

You were pretty specific in saying that both electric and glow Kyoshos were 'barely capable of achieving forward flight'.
T-33: 130
Speed control: 60
Radio gear: 110, incl. transmitter
Battery: 60
Total: 360
When the current motor dies (It's made it 80+ flights and counting...), I may get a brushless for it, but for what it is I'm really happy with it.
