Craig,

We may have tried crow a little but I don't recall it doing much. As with anything, it does become easier to land with more time on itand for us, added flap throw made the biggest difference beyond the stock setup although I cannot remember the specific details of how much more I added, probably 10 mm. I never noticed any negative effects of more flaps.

Craig,
It's not much, maybe about 3/8". I do not recall any trim change when I put the crow in it just how I reacted the first flight after I did it and thought huh, that did something.

Well, I've got both. Only 7 flights so far on my Natrix but I would say it flies very similar to the Futura and maybe a little better inverted (less down elevator required). It also looks sleeker (in my opinion). No sense in keeping both so I will probably sell my Futura.

Is this model completely made up of CF? I can see most of the pics here have a carbon fin and lots of carbon on the body and wings.. whats the deal?

I can't speak for the "standard" Natrix but I ordered mine with the carbon fiber upgrade and it has lots of carbon fiber from near the front of the canopy opening all the way back. The vertical fin is also all carbon. I made sure to put my antennas forward and above the carbon areas. These pics show a little of what I'm talking about.

Thanks for posting Rommel. It wasn't a great day to video with the low overcast but you did a good job! I spent a lot of time on that flight experimenting with the gyro, crow settings and trim (and staying out of the clouds). Even so, I'm starting to get more comfortable with the Natrix.

Default Any recommendations for CG, Throws and Expo

Guys thank you for sharing your experience with the Natrix. I was wondering if you can please share your recommendations based on experience for the following:

1) Throws
2) CG point (Paritech recommends 385mm from the leading edge I believe)
3) Expos (I am using a Jeti DS 16 II for reference)

I am building mine with a X240 and look forward to maiden it in the coming week

Looking forward to your guidance!

Hi Razor,
Here are the settings for my Natrix:

Throws (at the root/inboard edge)
· Ail Up (hi/lo) 30mm/24mm Ail Down (hi/lo) 27mm/20mm·
. Elevator Up 19mm Elevator Down 27mm·
. Rudder L/R 45mm
· Flaps T.O. 42mm (mix 6% elev down) Flaps Landing 97mm (mix 10% elev down)

CG: 383mm

I fly mine with a Jeti DS24 and a Cortex Pro. These are the settings I use.

Expo:
· Ail 27%
· Elev 25%
· Rud 30%

Gyro gain:
· Clean (flaps up) -32%
· T.O. flaps -42%
· Landing flaps -50%

There is a lot of personal preference with expo but I like the feel of mine with these settings. You might want higher expo if you are not running a gyro. My Natrix weighs just over 17kg (dry) and is very lightly wing-loaded. It flies beautifully but be ready for it to float on landing.

Good luck with the maiden!

Craig
