Wow, great looking M3 Lee!!!

Rivets on tanks were a bad idea because any large impact could send them bouncing around inside the tank. So even none penetrating hits could be fatal to the crew.
There wasn't enough manufacturing capacity to cast or welded tank hulls in the numbers we needed so they had to make do with riveted ones.

dang! i was looking through Thingiverse and cult but here there's so many models! i was wondering if theres a late model panzer IV ? the one with the prototype nightvision, that would be such a great model to make, every other model i find is 1/10 and it would use so much filament if there isnt any panzers,is there any 1/16 models you guys might recommend ? obvious to RC it hahah
take care and be safe guys

It sat on the shelf for several years because I couldn't face doing the rivets but lockdown gave me the time to do them.

M3, as in scout car? Or halftrack? I'm printing one of those right now (the scout car). I've been meaning to post some of my findings with the sla printer so maybe I'll start another thread. I think we have a 3d printer thread but I can't find it anywhere. Anyway, after finally getting things sorted out I can highly recommend the wanhao d8 sla printer. They now have water washable resin and that makes all the difference in the world. Instead of all that nasty rubbing alcohol I just carry the whole print bed to the sink and spray it with the sprayer-thingie that most sinks have, and clean up is a snap.

I have the D7 and I love it. I've been thinking of the D8 but I may be moving house soon so everything is on hold.

Well, if you get the chance to pick one up I recommend it. It's a pretty good little printer. When I first got it I had a lot of trouble with the software but that's all been straightened out, and the only other problem was that I got a defective tank and didn't know it. The tank had a small leak in it so resin leaked out in between the bottom of the tank and the screen and that caused all kinds of problems. But, I bought a new tank and everything's been fine ever since.
