I think your 90t will be fine, maybe a little underpowered but not much. It should fly in a very scale fashion. My first one with the Saito 100 was slightly overpowered.

Airplane is finally complete. I am going to redo the flaps but they are not actually as bad as I thought, once I aligned and centered all the surfaces. The part near the center section of the wing is still pointed down a little. The plane balances perfect with the 90ts and the batteries located right in front of the landing gear, but without the interior floor and seats.

Here's mine, but it remains grounded due to engine issues. It has a DLE 20 and the maiden was horrific with either idle or full speed, and nothing in between. I was able to bring it down into some high grass, which did soften the blow. However, the nose gear (sierra) snapped at the wooden block I added per this thread. The wheel, went right through the bottom requiring a repair to the fuse behind the fire wall. Sent the engine in to VVRC and they found a bad ignition pickup, which has now been repaired and back on the plane. While the engine was off, I completely re-plumbed the fuel tank and carb lines, redid the choke lever, and throttle. I did this to make absolutely sure that nothing was rubbing against any other moving part. (rear carbs are nice, but a pain to set up. Any way, engine testing failed yesterday, with the engine not wanting to run at idle, and dying immediately upon acceleration. Next step is to get totally new gas and remix it to specs. I want this in the air but it's first trip was pretty harrowing.

I wish it had, I would never have left the ground. I was able to taxi it out and take off which went well. As I got airborne, the problems started. I was able to keep it in the air by idle, then quick acceleration, and back to idle. It wasn't a pretty flight, that I can guarantee, and gliding was difficult at best. I did get it down though and am now close to finding out the problem. Everything has been checked except the fuel so that will be next. Never gave it a second thought since I have an old Ultra Stick Lite that screams right along with a G26 using the same gas.

Dang that sucks ...
I have had two planes fail the engine running range check. One was a gasser the other was nitro. The gasser would function fine within about 10-15 feet of the model but had crazy throttle issues about 30-40 yards out. Was able to fix the issue before taking up.
Hope your next flight goes as planed!

I am working on the kit built version of this plane, but sadly I am missing the windshield.
Any chance someone has a spare front window they would sell?
I would pay $25 shipped to Washington state.

Decided to take the plane up on Monday. Flight did not go well. The engine cut out ya out 20 feet 15-20 feet off the ground. Damaged the nose gear and bottom area of plane right behind the nose gear. I think I recovered pretty good.
Got the plane fixed back up and almost ready for a new maiden!

If you looked through the previous posts you would see that most guys have had difficulty with firewall strength and nose gear on a long lever arm tearing out the nose gear mount. Given the extent of the damage you experienced, I guess its a good thing that you hadn't done the firewall spacer behind the nose gear because it surely would have bent your Robart Nose gear! I would consider the spacer if you can keep the engine from quitting at the wrong point of the flight. As I have said in previous posts, the nose gear on a conventional gear airplane is there to keep the prop off the ground. Not for landing on! That's what the main landing gear is for. I taxi my model as as well as full scale airplanes with full up elevator all the time (with crosswind considerations) Keep the weight off the nose gear as much as you can.

Sorry for the delay, I had to look, and the plane is up on a storage rack. I am using a MAS 3 blade 15x7.
BTW. The engine problem turned out to be a bad fuel ignition module. Got it fixed, but I haven’t flown it in several years now. I am planning to get that done when weather gets warmer.

I just received my TF Cessna 182 from Horizon Hobby a couple days ago. It looks exactly the say as the one I bought about 10-15 years ago. Back then, they were much cheaper. I am building this one as an electric. I know this kit is really designed for gas and does not have a battery hatch. How is everyone handling this issue?
