"Flat" Blades for B400??
Just getting into CP flying with the B400, and I'm looking for any and all "crutches" to make the transition without too many crashes. My LHS owner mentioned that he'd heard of what he called "flat" blades that would be more forgiving than the stock blades that came with the machine. Just curious whether anyone has used these "flat" blades, how they behave, and where they might be available. Any info would be appreciated!

Here is some plastic flat bottom blades. http://www.jcshobbies.com/products_blade400.html I had a smaller pair of these on a CPP and they are pretty tough. Mine were out of balance, so you would probably have the balance the bigger ones. Besides that I don't know of any other flat bottom blades wooden or plastic for a 400 sized heli.

RE: "Flat" Blades for B400??
hover,
Indeed, the flat bottom blades should be an aid to beginning flight with a CP heli, as they tend to give more lift, and make the heli a bit more stable.
I personally have never used any flat blades on my B400's, but I have on the Blade CPP helis, with good results.
If you wanted to try a set, I found these;
http://www.jcshobbies.com/products_trex.html
I have never used these, nor know anyone that has, so I can't recommend them per se, but figured it would at least point you in the right direction, should you want to go that route...
Hope this helps, and maybe some others have suggestions as well!
Glenn

i have a set of these plastic blades hover55 if you want them.
i dont care much for them, their heavier and take more power to get off the ground.
but you are welcome to them if you want.
if you havent already ordered them, we can meet somewhere no cost you can have them for free.
i used to use them when i busted up my blades and didnt want to waite for larry`s to open

RE: "Flat" Blades for B400??
Thanks to ALL for the info, and special thanks to BAD400 for the offer! My LHS has a set waiting for me, so I'll probably go that route... But HEY! If you're ever out near the Rochester area, Addison Oaks Park is about 7 miles north... I work there seasonally (May-Oct.), and we maintain a large (15-acre) glider field... I'm setting up a heli landing area with flight deck this season... Give me a holler if you fell like flying.... I'll get you in at no charge as a guest, and you might get a hoot out of watching me crash!
