Default Little Picco, big problem

Hello All,

I hate to be another user stuck in ground effect... but yes... I have recently purchased and built a Piccolo V2 FP with the upgraded 310 tuning motor, with a picco plus board. This is my first build, and I've followed the instructions carefully...

After about 50% throttle, the chopper will lift, but the remaining throttle does nothing to get me out of ground effect.
I haven't found any data on RPMs for the Picco... so I don't know what I need to hit...

I have checked for binding on the pinion, and it's free
I have tried two 310 motors
Two sets of Piccolo V2 Blades (man these things are flat)
The stock Ni-Cd batt, and twin stack Li-PO, 7.4V 1500HD
I've tried all three pitches discs...
Adjusted the flybar weights
Changed from an 8 to 10 tooth pinion
And scratched my head a lot...

I'm stumped... Any suggestions?

Setup is critical on these tiny birds. Vibration, tracking, gear mesh all are areas to look.

I had the same problem. The DD tail sucks a lot of power.

I tried the stock battery and could only get 1 to 2 minutes of flight mainly in ground effect. The 7.4v 1500mah lipo wouldn't lift the picco off the ground.

The only thing that got it to work is a 3 cell 11.1v lipo. It works well with the 3 cell. I had the piccoboard plus, 310 motor and the gws edp50 dd tail.
