RE: Traxxas 550 12t Motor
I hate to say it but brushless is the way you should go. the way you say you keep burning up the stock motor it sound like you are buying a lot of them. at 28 bucks each it gets expensive. a mamba kit is 180 so that is like 6.3 titans so in the long run brushless is the way to go but if your not looking to spend that much you can get either a 18 or 19 tooth pinion, and hope for the best.
other things on brushless.
pros
theyre fast
no mataince at all.
theyre fast
you get an awsome esc with the mamba.
theyre fast
nothing wears in the motor besides bearing so if its not overheated it will last forever
did I mention theyre fast
cons
you still have to get a smaller pinion
price(over time it pays for itself so this is iffy)
tires start to get expensive

RE: Traxxas 550 12t Motor
Get a modified 12t 540 can motor. A modified is muc more tolerant to heat, easy to rebuild or replace brushes and they are fast as heck. Much better than a 550 sealed can motor.
