Default new HBFP has no power

just got my HBFP a week or so ago, put some superskids on it, and tried to fly it with a new LIPO battery and also with one of the two factory packs, and with any of them it has almost no power, full throttle only gets me maybe a foot off the ground. Any ideas what could be wrong before I start throwing parts at it?

Oh, I thought the lipo was lighter than the nicad or nimh they came with, but I haven't weighed them.

I did try to fly it once completely stock and it was about the same so I'm not sure.

while I'm on the subject the darn thing is really hard to fly... much harder than my blade cx.

The LiPo's are lighter, the SS give it some weight making it a little more stable (not much), is your throttle trim in the middle?

The HBFP may be hard at first but once you can fly this, you can fly anything (almost )

throttle trim is all the way back to keep it from spinning with the throttle closed.

gear mesh too tight? blades out of balance? main shaft bent? i used to have an hbfp and all of these were problems if the heli would not lift off. biggest difference was when i balanced the blades. it shot off the ground as soon as i did that at 70% throttle

I can confirm that a hbfp with superskids and a lipo will fly.

your throttle trim should be in the middle, that is 0.

290 grams stock with the NimH battery. 294.5 grams with the Lipo, superskids kit and antenna tube. Weighed it after the upgrade. It fly's much better, very stable. Not that it didn't fly great before! Problem is other then the upgrade I would say.

Could be as simple as the motor isn't broken in yet. I had a similar problem with my Walkera #4. Once the motor broke in she flew like a champ.

I don't know, 3 batteries through and it barely gets 1' off the ground at full throttle. I'm using a superskids LIPO. Bad motor maybe?

thinking it's a bum motor, I tried to break it in with 3 "AA" batteries in series and it ran for about 5 seconds and drained them.
