Default GiantScalePlanes The Company Anyone have one?

Anyone have a plane built by giant scale planes in the 80" or larger(aerobatic). What was your impression with the model you have? Pro's and con's. Any big problems.

Thanks

I'm still flying the Giles, over 100+ flights and it hasn't fallen apart despite what some people say about GSP.

The construction looks weak, but it is engineered strong. It flys well but the instructions are really poor.

Default Giant scale planes.....

Hi Tim, I was just on holidays in Edmonton. I went into Hobby Wholesale, and they have these planes in stock. I was looking at the Christen eagle, wow nice plane. I wanted to buy it right there, but didn't have room in the van. I'd give the guys at the store a call, I'm sure they will tell you what you need. They really seemed helpfull when I was there, the price was right too.

Had one, looked at many others, and I would not own another one. The construction was anywhere from mediocre to fair on the ones I looked at. I had to do a lot of re-work on the one I had. It was heavy compared to all others in its class (42% Giles). There is no guarantee that you won't get a badly built airplane, and the company has a reputation for saying 'kiss off' if you call with a problem. From all the stories I've heard, I have yet to run across anyone that had a better than average experience with them, and far to many that had substandard experiences. If you really want that airplane, then just proceed cautiously.

I have a 80" edge. The fuse is oversizrd but strong. The wings are too small for this sized aircraft. Very high wing loading. Might as well have a scale bird. I would not recommend the 80" edge. Tho I have heard other new kits are much nicer.
