on my eme 60 but is already the second time that break the teeth of the 'main gear.

i had had this happen one time. Make sure your spur gear is not loose. If the gear mesh is anything but very tight, you will break teeth. Also make sure you are using a good sticky grease.

I was so waiting for a spate of posts like this to happen!!!

That install is a little tricky, if not done just right would cause a break in the gears.

For those who do their own install make sure it has very little resistance on the workings, when spun by hand.


Use plenty of grease and don't run it without a prop, it needs a load or it will rev out and stuff up.

I always used with the propeller and checked the operation is always fluid, or the same but I have broken the teeth of two gears and you can not use too much grease, because the injection sensor can be dirty with the risk that goes off the engine in flight

Check that your ignition timing is not too far advanced. An engine kick back from advanced timing could cause gear failure.
