Help with KV gearboxes
Howdy
Im finally getting round to getting H KV1 and need some help. I was thinking about getting these gearboxes to run in standard plastic tub.
http://www.tankzone.co.uk/images/hl/stug/gb1.jpg which seem very nice. According to the site Ihave to get themas they have a shorter axles to fit these metaldrive wheels and idlers.

Now after horrible experiences with a tiger, Iwanted to fit these as well to keep the drive axles in place and properly aligned:

The question is , rather, are:
1. the driveshatft supports - do Ihave to grind off part of th etank to get these to fit?
2. if I fit them, are they going to work with these "short axle" gearboxes and metal sprockets?
3. are all metal sprockets and reduced gears, such as those sold by rctank.de, "short axle" ?
4. should Ispecifically be looking for "long axle" boxes and metal sprockets to accomodate the drive support bearing?
5. has fitting of these drive support bearings anything to say regarding the fitting of the track tensioners such as these:

Any help is appreciated before Istart spending......

RE: Help with KV gearboxes
The long and short axles are designed to center the sprocket with the tracks. using anything other than what the tank came with will cause a misalignment problem at the track and sprocket. Then you would need o remount the gear boxes to re-align the two. <div> Some of the axle supports do require you to alter the hull to make them fit. Others like the black plastic ones i have seen are shaped to accomodate the shape of the hull.</div>
