Evolution 26 GT needs an airframe: Advice
Mike from Memphis TN here:
I have the following equipment that I took out of a 73 inch QQ YAK.
Evolution 26 GT Gas Engine
5 Hitec 5695 Digital High Torque Servos rated at 168 oz. torque a piece.
1 Standard Servo {for throttle}
In short, I was very unhappy with the QQ Yak
1. Landing gear box was super weak.
2. Styrofoam on side of fuse was weak and broke easily.
3. Poorly designed "at field" wing installation system
I'm looking for a high quality airplane for this equipment to go into. I like some basic 3D manuevers but stuff like hovering is not my gig. My flying style is more IMAC/Pattern/Freestyle.
ONE OF THE MOST IMPORTANT CONSIDERATIONS IS TO GET AN AIRFRAME IN WHICH THE EVOLUTION WILL GIVE GOOD PERFORMANCE. UNLIMITED VERTICAL AND NOTHING WEAK.

RE: Evolution 26 GT needs an airframe: Advice
I have mine in a CG Pitts M12. A pitts will tumble but it's not a true 3D machine. I wouldn't put it in anything else... of course, I'm still waiting for the maiden but it fit perfect, weight is great, and the power for these motors are insane for small gassers.
