Why Aluminum parts?
I bought a T-Maxx 3.3 yesterday and I have a question. I see that alot of people use Aluminum parts, is this for looks or are Aluminum parts stronger that the parts that come factory? Also what parts would you consider upgrading right a way out of the box.
Thanks

RE: Why Aluminum parts?
Al is for show boats imho.
Good for a chassis, but for A-arms an such, i would avoid like the plague.
I would grab some Rpm A-Arms(Nylon) when yours break or if you feel like it before hand it wont hurt to have them.
Grab a couple extra spur gears for uninterupted run time in case you strip one from a full throttle jump an landing.
A second hood is nice to wreck one an save one for indoor displaying.
Few extra hood clips an your golden till something actually breaks.
Peace

RE: Why Aluminum parts?
Just get aluminum on like.... bulkheads, and chassis braces (keep in mind aluminum does bend)
For the first upgrades I would recommend:
new tires (for the surface you plan to run on most)
rpm arms (they have a lifetime warranty)
aluminum bulks (you will eventully brake one and they are a pain in the a** to replace, and aluminum shouldn't brake)
and probably a couple spur gears, I haven't broken 1 yet and I've ran like 3 gallons, but there's always the possibility
eventully a body, but I haven't needed a new one yet
