Default On-board Glo system

ElectroDynamics, Inc. in Livonia, MI has a very good system
and I have it in a Pica Cessna 182 and am very pleased with it.

Model EDR-103 GlowLite It is good for a single or twin engine installation. I have it on a MVVS 120 twin.
Their phone is 734 422 5420

Hope this helps

Sarg,

What did it cost you? I need one for an MVVS 1.44. Is it on all the time when you are flying? Did it help your idle?

Default ON Board Glow

There is no need to buy an On board glow system. I had one and it worked fine but they are expensive. I found a much cheaper and realiable way to do it.
All you need is a single 2000 mah or larger battery, single pole switch and a charging jack. I buy all my stuff at Radio Shack.
For a 1 plane set up I use:
1- single "C" battery holder
1- Size M coaxial DC Power Jack
1- SPST Submini PC Board Toggle Switch
2 color wires ( i use red and Black) 16-18 guage
1- Glow plug connector ( hobby shop )

I cut off the wires on the battery holder. I then solder the red to one end and black to the other. You have to be fast or it will melt the holder. I take the black wire and Y in another black to go to the charging jack. the other end goes to the motor mount.
On the red side I Y in a red wire to go to the charging jack. The other end goes to the glow plug connector. You have to put the switch in line that goes to the glow plug. I mount both the charging jack and the switch to the side of the plane. I put a charge on the single cell battery.
When you are ready to fly just flip the switch. You have a hot gloe plug for the whole flight. I am getting up to 1 hour flying time on a single charge of the Nicad 2000 mah. The thing idles great never had one so realiable. If you run the battery down just give it a quick charge. You will get more time with the Nmhd batteries...
Try it it works great

Ty
