which motor, mt.12 or o.s. .12cvr???
Hey guys,
Looking for a fast motor for my Losi xxx-nt for some serious bashing around, and have heard good things on both these moters. I have a xxx-nt now with a o.s.12cv and i'm going to build another one but want something faster.
Appreciate any help, thanks!

For me, I think the CVR or TR from OS are plenty of power. Once you get over that, you begin getting hard to control. To each his own but I love OS' s reliablity and consistency from tank to tank.

I also like the CV-r12. My son and I have worn out 4 CV-r's racing and never had a problem with them. They are very easy to tune and hold the tune very well. Seldom having to adjust the carb except for extreme temperature changes during the life of the engine. We have been getting about 3 1/2 gallons of fuel through each engine under racing conditions before it is worn out.

A lot to do with engine selection is the climate you live or race in. Our club here in Thailand the track temperature can reach 140 degrees F. plus in the afternoons. The best, fastest and most reliable engine we have found (and we tried them all) is the Novarossi 1.2 with slide carburetor. O.S. was the second best but not as fast. Also if you live in a high humidity region keep your fuel bottle covered all the time. Nitro fuel absorbs moisture and this can also shorten the life of any engine and loss of power.
