The days are getting shorter
The days are getting shorter and in the mid west we only have about a month of big bird flying left.
It was a nice day so I thought I would take a few pics.
You guys out west and in the south got it made.
65 degrees and 15mph north wind pretty good for mid October.

Yeah, I don't look forward to the cold blustery air and lack of daylight. Gonna be a long winter! I'm already looking forward to Spring....[&o]

Here in India we are actually awaiting winter. Thats the best season to go out flying. Summers are terribly hot here. As hot as 48C in the afternoons. Winters are nice and mild. Varies between 9-15C. Perfect for RC [8D]

Down here in Georgia flying season is just starting to peak...its so hot and humid in the summer its almost not worth it. But when it gest 50 degrees out the airplanes seem to come to life

Theoretically, cooler air is better for lift and combustion, electrics are happier and I would be fine flying w/ skiis but my fingers just get numb and my reactions slow down. Just can't do it.

Well, winter flying isn't for everyone that's for sure.
But for those of us who do fly all winter, it's a whole
different enjoyable ball game. Not to mention that any
frozen lake or pond can make one heck of a runway.

A buddy has a field right outside his doorstep. We walk outside, fly a flight, come back in. We keep all our batteries nice and toasty inside as well. It's all electric stuff, but some of the new Foamies fly as good as the 35% stuff.

Winter is the only time of the year I can fly-fish.
It's easy too, and tons of fun if you get a few buddies
to participate.
A typical Saturday in winter
1. Bore hole in ice
2. Set fishing traps
3. Fly airplane while waiting for fish to bite.
4. Cook on camping stove.
5 Fly airplane
6. Bring skates, play hockey
7. fly airplane
8. Play horse shoes
9. Fly airplane
10. The eating part is done anytime between steps 4 through 9
11. Get ready for Sunday.
A typical Sunday in winter
repeat steps 1 through 10 on Saturdays schedule
That's what winter is.
